An initiative unforeseen
Supported by the Countess Aberdeen
Motivated several politicians and were
Encouraged to convene
In the year of 1920
When issues were aplenty
Delegates backed the Cork City charter
And elected MacSwiney, our dear martyr
Yet as many were to grieve
Others would also leave
They were faced with a new mandate
Upon founding the Irish Free State
However not everyone was happy
And things got rather scrappy
With views diverging ever-more
Making it hard to keep the score
The dust took a while to settle
And tested our civic institutions’ mettle
Though issues were left unsolved
Causing city councils to be dissolved
New problems were to be addressed
That would get the people rousing
Occupied with public works and housing
Making the managers obsessed.
That’s an oversimplification
For a topic deserving of dilation
An overview of a creation
Being the Municipal Association
The day the hour,
The meat the shower,
Show no oscillating octopus to an octagonal obelisk and eat a Greek tortilla upside down in a second. It is wiser to tread lightly in a miller’s abode. Round and round the turrets go those turtles so mind your footing for shells can be slippery really.
When shopping for an Aberdeen Angus bull it is wise to carry an umbrella as showers can occur from any lengths of tail thus rendering talismans useless and a fruit fly would remark that a plate of steamed rice is simply not that exciting really so now after all that information you can leapfrog over the dandelions wearing a cotton pair of anglers waders and a fish hat with or without fins.

Softly twinkles in her eyes
They still shine unlike no others
Leaves me helpless, mesmerized
From the northern shores of Aberdeen
With just one magnetic glance
These majestic orbs of emerald green
Always puts me in a trance
I say I'd give a thousand breaths
For one moment neath her skies
Then pray I'd die a thousand deaths
In the oceans of her eyes
A giraffe who was new
At the Aberdeen Zoo
Heard a bagpipe askirling one day.
He tracked down the player
And offered to pay her
If she kindly would teach him to play.
He gazed at the piper,
A Hebrides viper,
As she uncoiled and let out a sigh.
Then she hissed, "Listen, dearrie,
I'll answerr yerr querry,
But you're nae gonna like my rreply.
Yerr legr'rr like stilts,
You'd look funny in kilts,
And that just would'na sit well wi' Scots.
We'rre quite snobbish and swell,
And know perrfectly well
That plaid dinna fit well wi' spots!"
I long to traipse across lavender heathered hills
and look across the North Sea as a winter wind chills.
Again, to dwell in a cottage, nestled in a green glen
or traverse Scotland's burns, I yearn. Do ya ken?
Years ago I sat upon Loch Lomond's misty banks
and to the beautiful Highlands I offered my thanks
for rugged terrain, lowlands and plains, and Aberdeen.
Haunting bagpipe songs, leaves me feeling serene.
My heart longs to wander free as I stand and listen
to gulls over the Hebrides while Atlantic waters glisten.
There's a stirring deep within my heart and my soul
to wear my clan's plaid and upon Ayr Beach to stroll.

My Love of Colors in My Paintings
Tangerine is my go-to color; it makes my paintings pop.
When I am working on an aberdeen sky, I never want to stop.
Obsidian is the paint I use to enhance my cat’s yellow eyes.
Citrine is one of my favorite colors, it looks eerie in my skies.
Green permeates my artwork, it makes my paintings fresh and cool.
Aquamarine mermaids swim by, a fantasy success as a general rule.
Crimson I use in all my roses, I learned this in art school.
There was a young lad from Aberdeen
His knees were knobbiest ever seen.
Bought himself a kilt,
Wore it without guilt
Kept his bony knees kilt-worthy clean.

I once met a girl in Aberdeen
Sweetest little gal I ever seen
Her face was fair,
Had auburn hair
Her reputation was squeaky clean.

When mother goes to vote.
We all get up at the peep of day and fret and fume and stew,
While father lays the breakfast cloth and makes the coffee too.
He always gets his fingers burned I would not dare to quote
The things he says around the stove when mother goes to vote.
The cat is sure to steal the cream the puppy steals the steak,
And when we wash the dishes up a lot are bound to break,
And baby chokes and cries enough to spit his little throat.
And father seem to hate himself
When mother goes to vote.
We kids are all as still as mice and at attention stand,
Prepared to run for curling tongs and pins at her command
And father hooks her up the back and helps her with her coat
and puts her in a cab when mother goes to vote.

Britainers have no idea of distance
Ontario to B.C. is just a hop, skip and a dance
About 3,000 miles
London to Aberdeen 450 miles
Holy crap, no chance to change your underpants
The king and Queen
Of the elves have two blonde haired blue eyed
Princes who will one day reign
In the beautiful forest of Aberdeen.
These two young adults named Ivan and Eugene
Have learned about what it takes to rule their
Realm of green.
The Monarchy is so excited there will be two
Kings to take care of their domain.
The King and Queen
Have sent for the prince's younger sister princess
Josephine
Who will now remain with her husband Germane
In the beautiful forest of Aberdeen.
Ivan will be marrying princess Geraldine.
Eugene will be marrying princess Lorraine.
The King and Queen
Will be hosting the engagement ball where the
Princesses will be receiving their rings of
Aquamarine.
This will be a huge event where elves come from
All around to play games, give their blessing, a
Present and to toast the young couples with
Champagne.
In the beautiful forest of Aberdeen
Is a spectacular scene.
Captain
Report to the King and Queen
In the beautiful forest of Aberdeen.
