If life was as easy as ABC
I’d see
To it I know my alphabet
But if I don’t get
It I’d turn to numeracy
And with accuracy
Memorize all but if I still fail
If I can’t nail
Either I’d have no choice but to learn
How to earn
My stripes in life
Which would make me come alive
Again, I take my pen in hand.
Bring words to mind, so I can plan.
Compose a verse quite fresh and new!
Deciding on what style to do?
Each letter then I will suggest,
Flows quickly through the alphabet.
Great, this shall give me loads of choice,
Hoping you out there hear my voice.
In-case you don’t I’ll write it down
Just to ensure you will not frown.
Kindly yes, I considered that,
Let me decide the right format.
Making the meter rhyme I say
No other style for me today.
Organised with this choice, just made,
Presuming brings me accolade.
Questions although could still be asked,
Reviews received could me unmask.
Still, I shall understand if you,
Turn aside and do not review.
Undecided? you may have heard,
Value now from my written word
Will bring a Merry Christmas too,
Xeroxed this now sending through.
Yes, lastly, I will cheer and say,
Zip-a dee- doo dah- zip-a-dee ay!
What’s the difference between now and then
why was life so much better way back when
Might be it was because we had no care
when it comes to talking ‘bout how we’d share
Whether was clothes, a coke, secrets or shoes
or anything else I thought you could use
No worries sharing things we were doing
we even shared the gum we’d been chewing
There's a place that I go
When my day is hard to face
I just have to cross a bridge
Then I'm here at Mary's place
Mary's is a special place
That any one can go
One can write or sing a song
Or sit back and watch the show
There may be a unicorn
Or pixies spreading dust
If you see a mermaid
To swim with her you must
You can find a table
To share a glass of wine
Listen to some music
While you enjoy the rhyme
I've had my morning coffee
There with a friend of mine
Even shed a tear or two
As we shared a written line
They'll be words of love
Broken hearts, there are a few
I have found both of them
Even left there one or two
Don't forget to read the smiles
Heartbreaks aren't the only things
You will have the biggest grin
When you hear how Mary sings
Will be many rainbows
While in this land of bliss
Willows never weep there
If you share a loving kiss
Now if you see a dragon
Fear not oh maiden fair
Mary has Tarnished Knight
You know he'll be right there
Let your mind go wandering
For new people you will meet
When you cross Mary's Bridge
It will be a special treat
There is this dichotomous relationship within the alphabet…
for the letters therein contained
can be used to create words of joy…of love…of happiness…
as well as words of hatefulness…and pain.
From the same 26 letters come
words of wonder…
words of beauty
words that fill a heart with joy
as well as
words of anger
words of spite
words that can…a soul destroy.
Which means it’s up to us
as we create and express our thoughts
from within their alphabetical array…
to think about the words we write
and the words we’re going to say.
It’s up to us to create words
of love
and tenderness
and never to abuse them….
not only in our choice of words…
but how we choose to use them.
THE ABC OF LOVE
A boy called David Edward
Met a girl called Fran.
He asked her on a date
And so a new romance began
Francine gave him instant joy,
Until he asked her whether
She would walk the aisle with him
And spend their lives together
“Kissing, loving, mad nights out
Are all I want from life,”
Said Francine with a grimace.
“I never want to be a wife.”
“Pour Quoi?” Replied sad Ted.
“I thought we got on well.”
“And so we do,” said Francine
“But marriage would be hell.”

Both tourists and islanders shop at this store.
It sells souvenirs, cold drinks, and much more.
Find them on many streets in Honolulu.
Leave the city, and they're all over Oahu.
Explore these stores on the Big Island too.
Go to their shops on Maui and Kauai.
They even have places on Molokai.
Their selections and bargains are worth a look-see.
These Hawaiian convenience stores are called ABC.
It's been a while
Since I dropped a rhyme
So let's have some fun,
Once upon a time
There was a simple guy
Who thought he was a butterfly
People thought he was insane
But he just had dreams that he could fly high as an aeroplane
He just wanted to be happy
To chase he's dreams he was always ready
He's heart was pure
He wasn't greedy never wanted more
To fly that was his only dream
Above the sky all he wanted to see
But sadly he dream never came to pass
He died in motion of bringing it to success.
Another day another dollar I pray.
Blow the dollars and you will pay.
Count your pennies or do a giveaway.
Dollars could be at bay.
E-banks were all the trend until they went away.
Funny money no more payday.
Gosh what more can I say.

ABC Rhyme
Millions lived in earlier days
With unique and different ways
Some reached up to heights sublime
Yet here and now is my own time
I can learn from days gone by
But now’s my time, until I die
My time to act and live and grow
My time to love and learn and know
My talents have been given me
To use and share creatively
This I’ll share in rhythm and rhyme
I’ll act today, this is my time!
If only you knew
Days gone by and still I cry
Sole tears trickle with a gentle sigh
It’s all still here still so real
Nothing is helping the way I feel
Blood with needles all piercing my heart
From the moment you slept at the very start
A beautiful family always here to help
Any other time my heart would melt
But not this moment or any other day
Inside I’m crying my life away
Everything I see and everything I do
Leads me back to missing you
A little kiss upon your head is all I need
To say I love you and stop the pains feed
I can’t see a way to escape this jail
My soul is in all I do is fail
Good memories are deep within
Like the very last sweet inside a tin
I need a way to set them free
The way a river flows to the sea
I want to smile and laugh a little
But memories of my Nan are few and brittle
They day will come I have to let go
My body my mind my heart say no
No one in this universe could ever compare to you
My beautiful perfect nan... if you only knew
By Parizo Van Thulare
Rise!my poet rise!
The words you speak are wise
The stanzas you roll with are mild
Like stars at night
You always shine so bright
You rhyme with pride
You woke the broken from the hive
You raised the saddest with your mike
Yet they are taking over the streets
They want to hike
All the way to you to taste the poetic life
Always begin with God’s goodness* to do your best’s fullness:
Build lives braced by His graciousness
Cling to His compassion’s richness
Drive toward faith's service-fruitfulness
Empower the weak, enabled against weariness.
Fulfill granted roles of stewardship; freely practice servant-leadership
Glow in the Lord's light, share blessings around sweet partnership
Hoist up the fallen, welcoming them with warm friendship
Influence others toward meaningful spiritual relationship
Join prayer-warriors’ fellowship to sustain godly worship.
Kingdom of the Master seek for spiritual advancements
Love the Almighty and neighbors as yourself in your engagements
Minister with care, meeting needs midst discouragements
Nurse the sick, cheering those that have impairments
Offer help, having been recipients of the Saviour’s kind endowments.

A.B.C.
Little Tommy sat in class
Raised his hand, his hope to ask
If for a wee he could be free
Because he had a need to pee
The teacher said, okay with me
But nothing in this world is free
So you can nip out for a wee
If first you say your ABC
He started on the alphabet
And wondered just how far he'd get
He crossed his legs and went for it
And couldn't help but hurry it
He knew he could have done much better
Because he missed a single letter
He knew full well his A B C
But this is what he said you see...
A,B,C,D,E,F,G,
H,I,J,K,L,M,N,O...... Q...
R,S,T,,, U and V,
W, X,,, Y then ZEE.
Teacher frowned and tried to see
How he could skew his A B C
She said you mucked up, can't you see
Because you failed, you can't go wee
But can you please explain to me
Just where on earth did go the P
And Tommy answered with a hiss
It's running down my right leg, Miss...
