Sometimes a poem only needs its title.
Sometimes though it’s clear
The lessons of history
Were never learned
In the first place.

America remember in your darkest moment
Murder fell from the sky the nation united
Etched together forever is your united grief
Remember in that single moment the world
In unison the world came together as one
Choosing to stand side by side as a friend
America your darkest day the world came
Suddenly, the crashing sounds of broken glass
as all the doors closed with nowhere to pass
Time stood still as so many innocent souls breath their last
the tragedy which happened unexpectedly so fast
with blood and fire mixing together on the ground
the city transformed into a great battleground
the hand of terror forced its way with a heavy sound
to hit a target for which it was mount to bound
So many left with unfinished dreams after the blow
to leave the world in darkness moving away the glow
no one had a clue even to use a whistle for anyone to know
that within a few seconds the towers will come below
Perhaps this would never had happened should one foresight
while everyone was so busy about their duty under the light
to commit themselves with intelligence to do everything right
unknowingly they got caught by evil in life to lose the fight
The memory of that one day no one can erase from the mind
which continue to stain the hearts of those who escape death behind
The statue of liberty will forever mourn those patriots who are gone
as well as the earth with open arms sit and wait for hose unborn
LIES ON EVERYTHING
911 LYING KING
LYING IS HIS THING
(“Enemy of the State Merit Badge”, 2011, original oil)
Twenty-five years on there are many lessons
Learned and still waiting from 9/11.
When American history is reviewed
Only a few clear days stand out,
Boston Tea Party, Pearl Harbor, World Trade Center
Yet how many Americans know these days,
And how many even care?
That’s lesson one.
New York City now has a Muslim mayor
Openly sympathetic to the terrorist jihad
That made that day something to celebrate
Making him at least a “Terrorist-lite”.
Somehow in the place least expected
The world has been turned upside down.
That is lesson two.
9/11 of course changed America
Paving the way for a new world order
A war on terror and surveillance state.
Which despite all misgivings, all assurance
It would soon be over and go away
We have accepted
And so it now appears just here to stay;
A sad and sobering lesson three
For a land of the free based in liberty.
What comes next, what’s left to learn?
That for liberty to last it must be earned.

It was a clear beautiful sunny day
Not a cloud in the sky
I was at work in midtown
2001 was the year
It was terrorist near
Uncertainty on every turn
Lessons to learn
Passenger planes being attacking bombers
No suspected as it was like a thrilling action movie
This was real and no act
Downtown NYC was like a war zone
Who would have expected known?
Devastation that took place
Ashes and smoke aftermath waste
Multitudes of people that were running for their lives
It looked like the end of the world
Many died while others survived
The thought of it could have been me
My name could have been on the memorial for all to see
The World Trade Centers stumbled down
It’s an impact me because I was supposed to work on the 96th Floor of Tower One
The company never called because they felt I was overqualified
It was a reject but a blessing that stands out
Again, a blessing for sure and can’t ignore
Heaven gave me extra time to live
Heaven’s grace watched over me
Thankful and uplifted
Never forgot and never will.
I’ll never forget those jumpers,
dark jet fuel leaking from the sky.
Distraught felt with an endless cry,
each previous moment in blurs.
Now it has been twenty five years,
it’s crazy how time has flown by.
I’ll never forget those jumpers,
dark jet fuel leaking from the sky.
Sent from our sisters and brothers,
forced to grasp their final reply.
I can still see the Twin Towers
Stark sound echoed by the others,
I’ll never forget those jumpers.
On a beautiful day, skies clear and blue, stood two tall towers, twins so true. But up above something was awry, a boeing 767 had taken to the sky. But in this big plane all was not fine, because a group of people had crossed a line. These people were all terrorists, and horrible ones at that! They were called Al Qaeda and their goal was a splat! They wanted to send a message and kill important people, we all know it's bad, just downright evil. Hijacking the plane, crashing was their game. The damn whole thing was a downright shame. At 8:45 they hit the first tower, and the second plane hit right on the hour. Passengers aboard were all killed, so much innocent blood was spilled. First responders came to the scene. Smoke and bodies and not much else to be seen. Thousands injured, thousands dead. That day in history is now stained red. Those 3000 went up to heaven, on the day we know as 9/11.
‘9/11’ did not change me
for I’m a veteran Israeli
From the horrors of Munich ‘72
to the ceaseless terror of the intifadas
From the nightly Hezbollah missiles
to munitions that shriek and whistle
From the river to the sea
~ 9/11’s everyday reality
Tomorrow is 9/11 the worst day in American history
We need to take a moment and pray
Thousands died in those beautiful towers
Many jumped to their deaths
Some we still can’t find 23 years later
The attack on the Pentagon was a vicious act
Those Heros on Flight 92 gave there lives to save fellow Americans
Terrorists remain in our world and we can never forget
coffee midst clouds
aloft windows on the world
september voices eternal
her history fades
december seventh's unmade
to rest heroes laid
.
The Second Plane Has Hit
It’s a confirming statement
Nobody saw the first plane
There is a puncture in wall
A visible cut out of a plane
But where is that plane ?
Did it penetrate Thru
The tower Cutting
Steel And Concrete
Drilling a hole like a punch
Plausible. Still is on the TV
Screaming News channels
A Plane Has Hit The WTC
But nobody saw that plane
Only A punctured cut out -
On a steel n concrete tower
Clean cut out clear outlines
Tower is smoldering within
There is no soot on exterior
On screen enters into frame
A plane which is called 2nd
It hits the wall and explodes
Exploded parts then vanish;
Or do they melt in explosion
In either case there is doubt
2nd plane does not cut thru
As the unseen first one did !
1st punctures 2nd explodes
There is no trace of second
There is no trace of first too
Where are those people who
Were supposed to be in these planes
It's not that serious, serious.
Seriously, it's not that serious.
Occasionally it's mysterious.
But really, how am I supposed to feel when I never really did heal?
Dear Todd,
Thank you for saving so many lives in
Washington , DC.
A true American, you!
It’s heroes exactly like you.
Who make me so proud of this land,
As I stand under the red, white and blue!
“Let’s Roll,” you told your team!
As your stormed the cockpit, full of our
enemies, a nightmare, not a dream.
The terrorists had to fight your scheme.
Those devils crashed it into Shanksville.
And thus, saved DC, it stands there still!
We do not understand your strength.
We fear being patriotic at any length.
We are not thankful for your deed.
The country forgot freedom is but a seed.
I pray this country is once again, whole.
Where we, like you, do the right thing,
And with your braveness and courage, say..
“ Let’s Roll!”
With thanks, from my red, white and blue heart!
Panagiota Romios,family and friends
