Contest Description

What to Submit?

A set of NEW limericks, Thanksgiving themed, make them funny, humorous or bawdy.

No more than 2 limericks, please have matching syllable counts in both. Please make each one relatable to the other to make a set. Please try to use exact rhymes. Rhymes do not need to match both sets. Lines 1, 2 & 5 should rhyme and have the same syllable counts.  Lines 3 & 4, same syllable counts and rhyme.  Both sets should have matching syllable counts. I like to use howmanysyllables to check.

Line 1: da DUM da da DUM da da DUM   7-10 syllables   A
Line 2: da DUM da da DUM da da DUM   7-10 syllables   A
Line 3: da DUM da da DUM                       5-7 syllables    B
Line 4: da DUM da da DUM                       5-7 syllables    B
Line 5: a DUM da da DUM da da DUM    7-10 syllables  A

English Language

Poems should be in English. Poems translated from other languages are not eligible, unless you wrote both the original poem and the translation.
