 Thanksgiving Limerick Set Poetry Contest
Sponsored by: Tania Kitchin
Bertie the Turkey made a getaway And got down on his knees for thanks to say Bertie knew that his fate Was to be on a plate Being gobbled up on Thanksgiving Day. Bertie couldn’t get up on his legs again He was old and his knees were causing pain His language became fowl He threw in the towel For the Turkey trot had all been in vain.

When language becomes fowl, one's face begins to scowl -- and that's not such a big howl! (Someday, maybe I'll make sense). ~ gw

Gershon, it’s a pretence that you have no sense, your a Souper-trouper, a merry maker, a poet and of course you know it… Belle

Sounds like Bertie might be a soup turkey. LOL Nobody wants to eat a gnarly bird. Hello young lady. Fun limerick. Hoping you are well.

I agree it’s a shame turkeys end up on a plate, but they’re very tasty. Thank you Tom, enjoy the week yourself too. Belle

Agree with Jan. So many turkeys end up in the oven. Lovely limericks. Blessings.

Thanks Jan, Bertie would be safer on The Isle of Man, perhaps he’ll be persuaded to trot :-) Hugs Belle xx
