The Best Thanksgiving Ever

I shot at a turkey in flight
He landed, which started a fight
He yelled, "Get a goose!"
We came to a truce
I offered a welcomed invite

A Thanksgiving goose sounded great
The turkey came early, 'round eight
But I ate my words
Along with both birds
No wonder I gained so much weight.
