Contest Description

What to Submit?

Write a NEW Etheree on any theme, any subject.

I prefer double etherees. But you can do a single etheree too.

Use www.howmanysyllables.com to count your syllables.  I will be using that when judging.

An Etheree is a type of poem which has ten lines. It goes in chronological order on the lines corresponding to the amount of syllables on it. It is a successive one to one system. So, the counts literally go up

Line 1 : 1 syllable

Line 2: 2 syllables

Line 3: 3 syllables

Line 4: 4 syllables

Line 5: 5 syllables

Line 6: 6 syllables

Line 7: 7 syllables

Line 8: 8 syllables

Line 9: 9 syllables

Line 10: 10 syllables

This type of poem can also go in reverse. Simply count down the numbers starting with ten.  you can also do a Double Etheree. This means that the lines will count upwards, and then at ten, ten is repeated and then it is counted down. So a Double Etheree is actually a 20 line poem.

I'm looking forward to see what you all come up with.

Goodluck
