Descending Lonely Leaf
Leaf
Descends
Crimson curl
Brittle breath breaks
Bending into dark
No breeze strong enough now
Burdened boughs won’t bear the weight
Scarlett cry clings to cracked silence
The final flutter of fading hope
One is leaf left, lost in its spiral fall.
Frost cannot hold the murmur of the roots.
What breaks down returns to form again.
Budding growth awaits light's return
To flourish, they must lie still
silence, soil, sacred rest.
Stillness shifts to buds.
Death speaks green truths.
Time circles
Always
back.
