Contest Description

If you’ve received a Soup Mail from me notifying you that you qualify to enter this contest—Congratulations!  This is a Standard Contest that will determine the sole winner of the Marathon, plus the 2nd through 15th place overall winners, and honorable mentions. YOUR FINAL placement will be determined by 1) Your final poem’s ranking and 2) Your overall performance in the 2025 Poetry Marathon.

Qualifiers, please follow these specific instructions:

  1. Choose and submit a poem of yours that has already placed in the top ten (1st through 10th) in any one of the 2025 Poetry Marathon contests. Only your poems that have already placed in the 2025 Poetry Marathon contests qualify to be submitted.
  2. DO NOT CHANGE THE POEM’S TITLE. The title of the poem must be the same as when it originally placed.
  3. DO NOT SUBMIT A NEW or DIFFERENT POEM. From your poems that have already placed, choose the poem you feel will do best to maximize your final placement. For example, you might decide to choose your poem that placed the highest in the 2025 Poetry Marathon (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.). If you only had one poem in the top ten, then you must submit that poem.

Only those who received a Soup Mail from me confirming that they are 2025 Poetry Marathon Qualifiers may enter this contest.  This contest is for the confirmed Qualifiers of the 2025 Poetry Marathon Contest and will determine their FINAL, overall placement in the Marathon.  Be sure to check your Soup Mail if you haven’t already.

PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THIS CONTEST if you did not receive a Soup Mail confirmation from me.  If you feel you should have received a Soup Mail confirmation from me but didn’t, then Soup Mail me. If you have any questions concerning this, then Soup Mail me.

Congratulations on qualifying for the FINAL Placement Contest. But remember—you must ENTER the final contest for any of this to happen.

BEST WISHES TO ALL QUALIFIERS!
