Image: Freia, the fair one', 1910 by Arthur Rackham
She clipped her faerie wings, those gossamer monstrosities, or so she was told by her "friends" who said she never would fit in with the everyday community. She clipped her faerie wings and cried because it would define her as an ordinary creature, no longer wondrous and magnificent nor magical nor special. She clipped her faerie wings and wished she could undo it for no amount of paring could turn her into common folk and something not contrary.

To begin with, never change who you are to please your friends. Anyone for that matter. Second, being ordinary is wonderful in every way, and she's truly amazing. Your thoughts caress gently around my heart. Congratulations Chetta, on Poem of the Day. My best to you. Hugs, Brandy

Well done! A noteworthy write! Those first couple of lines beautiful and poignant. They carry the rest of the poem that is filled with the sadness of no return. Perhaps something mgical will happen to return her to her former glory. Congrats on POTD!

Love this original idea! Whatever it is that makes you special it is best to embrace or face discontent with the new conforming change. Great messages are golden! Congratulations on your potd!
