I was born and raised in northern California in the land of the glorious redwoods. My father worked in the lumber industry and my brother and I had a simple but wonderful childhood. Off to the big city to become a nurse and all these years later I still am. I was married for many years, have 2 grown boys and 2 young grandsons..Jordan and Elliot. Me proud? You betcha..it truly is the best thing about growing older. On my own now and enjoying all that I can cram into my life. I love music.. am a life long member of The Friends of Jose Carreras..poetry and music are my loves.I am a technaphobe..so bear with me while I figure this all out.

"Nobody Knows It But Me"

Blog Posted by Barbara Gorelick: 3/24/2011 3:26:00 PM

I cut this out of a paper a few years ago, just ran across it again..I think its beautiful and hope you do to. It was written by an ad copywriter ,Patrick O'Leary. It was used in a Chevy Tahoe ad which I dont remember..maybe one of you will..

There's a place I travel when I want to roam,
And nobody knows it but me.
The roads don't go there and the signs stay home,
And nobody knows it but me.
It's far, far away and way, way afar,
It's over the moon and the sea, and
Wherever you're going  that's where you are.
And nobody knows it but me.

Just realized the lyrics were different but the title was the same. There was a beautiful sad song by Tony Rich and later by Babyface with the same title. God Bless. Vince

This sounds familiar. Just wondering how old this is and if it was ever put to music. It kind of bounced me back to my childhood. Thanks, Vince

Yes, I remember it was a commercial for a vehicle with a guy driving and saying this as he drove. Had to jog the memory but yes, I do remember it. Phyl

LIke Joyce, I am thinking this sounds very vaguely familiar. I don't even understand what a Chevy Tahoe ad might be. Anyway, it sure is a cute poem!
