I was born and raised in northern California in the land of the glorious redwoods. My father worked in the lumber industry and my brother and I had a simple but wonderful childhood. Off to the big city to become a nurse and all these years later I still am. I was married for many years, have 2 grown boys and 2 young grandsons..Jordan and Elliot. Me proud? You betcha..it truly is the best thing about growing older. On my own now and enjoying all that I can cram into my life. I love music.. am a life long member of The Friends of Jose Carreras..poetry and music are my loves.I am a technaphobe..so bear with me while I figure this all out.

My contest is filled, I apologise ( isn't that clever?) for the fact that I probably wont get this contest judged until the weekend some time. Its going to take some effort to sort out these great poems. Remember, a serious winner, and a humerous winner..2nd and 3rd place winners in both catagories...then it just falls where it may. thank you everyone for participating.. results as soon as I can! Good luck BG on a fabulous contest with a great challenge for us all ... and don't be alarmed if the winners list won't post if your deadline is in January 2011 it won't .. till TPS sets up the chart to show all the winners for the New Year... so I had to list all mine in the blog below ... think most sponsors who ran into this problem did so...so good luck.. with luv..
