I was born and raised in northern California in the land of the glorious redwoods. My father worked in the lumber industry and my brother and I had a simple but wonderful childhood. Off to the big city to become a nurse and all these years later I still am. I was married for many years, have 2 grown boys and 2 young grandsons..Jordan and Elliot. Me proud? You betcha..it truly is the best thing about growing older. On my own now and enjoying all that I can cram into my life. I love music.. am a life long member of The Friends of Jose Carreras..poetry and music are my loves.I am a technaphobe..so bear with me while I figure this all out.

New Contest...A River Runs Through It

Hi Guys..Ive been very busy..new twin grandbabies..how great is that?  Anyway...time to host a new contest..hope you like the theme..I love rivers..hope you do too...write me something flowing..lyrical...dramatic...placid...anything goes...I know you will come up with some great poems...BG  ( quatrains only)

Twins...how wonderful for your family !! Congratulations to one lucky Grandmother!! My own two youngest grandchildren were born just one week apart (one belonginging to my son, one to my daughter)...and I was so filled with joy with a baby in both arms!! But it takes a ton of energy too. So take your vitamins, Barbara!!! You may need them!! :) I'm so happy for you all! (I'll check out your contest soon!)
