To all of you poetry soupers who read and enjoyed my lovely wife's poems I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Karen passed away November 16. This was and is still devastating to me as she was and still is the love of my life. She was a wonderful person, generous to a fault to her children and her siblings. I will miss her for the rest of my life. Alan Berg

shocking news, alan, karen would comment on my spot some of the time. i knew her name well. and i've commented on her as often. on behalf of the soup i thank you for informing us of the loss of one of our favorite friends. she was very present as you know and she is surely missed. i have no wonder where she is. because in her blog she say's "I believe" and thats is the faith she confessed that brings saving grace. My deepest sympathy for your loss. I have read your wife's poems and they are truly inspiring and beautiful. Honor Karen for the kindness and beauty she brought into your life...yes, she was a wonderful person and her writings certainly prove that!!! It has devastated you, and I can sense from your very sad words in this blog. Be strong and keep alive her memory through her truthful poems. This a sad time to wish you a Merry Christmas...but the joy of Christmas is not the celebration in itself: it's the gift of love that God us through the birth of His Son, Jesus...giving us comfort and hope. May He, in his endless mercy and love comfort you and console you when no one can! I will say a prayer for your wife for her eternal rest, until the day of her resurrection from death...when the two of you will be together once more. this tore me up for she was a fighter to the end I know many called her at hospital to give prayers may you find peace once again and remember she is still with you not in body but in spirit my deepest condolences to you and family

Mr. Berg, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Karen was a favorite poet of mine. I will miss her terribly. I know there are no words that will ease your pain right now. Dear Mr. Berg - My heart dropped when reading this blog. OMG - I respected Karen so very much - as both a wonderful person and as a poet. All of my sympathy and prayers are extended to you, her family and her loved ones. I am at a loss for words. I rarely cry but...I am now.
