Death and Dying

The thin line between life and death
Existence on earth all, that is left
The struggle with humanity
my vote and my cause
Does it end with insanity
me against various laws?
I look at the bridge
the presence of pain when I cross
The resistance of my crossing
none of the fears of loss
Age has found me defenceless
my time quite possibly has come
living the healthy life
wasn't a reason to hold on
All the things that make a life
all are present and there
Even in my memory
at not one cause do I stare
I look at those I leave behind
who's reaching I cannot touch
Before I even leave this earth
missing me so much
My Friend who's waiting waits patiently
with a place far better than this one
I'm just delaying the moment in time
with uncontrolable tension
Sometimes in life comes the moment
when it's best to say goodbye
Looking deep with in my mind
I hope it's all a lie

We who are left behind suffer the loss but our loved ones who cross over are blessed. Death to me means freedom ensconced in love. Blessings xxoo

This is so filled with uncertainty I guess it isn't Death that hurts it's the dying that hurts The way I see it our bodies die but WE live on WHERE we live on is up to us Who is our Master Who do we serve? That's the question which answers everything I was only able to stop fearing death when I completely resigned myself to His Will I have surrendered to The Father and to Jesus Christ my personal Savior I don't know what He has in store for me but its better than what I have now. God Bless JB

The emotions of facing death and/or dying are so raw here. I hope you are not suffering, John. I remember when I got cancer and feeling so scared, still so young, in late 50's. Now I think of the world and how sinful it has become and I think it's better to think more of the blessed event that awaits us when we reunite with loved ones who have passed. Glad to see you back here with this poem.

I am dreaming more and more and thinking more and more of those gone on before especially recent deaths of loved ones. I know they are rejoicing in heaven in their new home. I was wondering the other day if all my kin had found each other and rejoiced in the fact they are all together once again. I enjoyed reading your work and know of whom you write being in heaven and you missing her. I hope this is a good day for you. Sara

*Reaching for those you cannot touch, before leaving this earth.* So sad indeed. Your thoughts caress softly around me and my heart. This is tender and emotional, all at the same time. My best to you. ~ Brandy
