The Dreamer

Once upon a time
In a backyard with a vine
A lady pretended to find
A lamp with a genie inside.

She rubbed it until it shined
Again and again with twine
Two puffs of smoke in a line
Poured out of it in her mind.

She thought of the wishes
Soon coming her way
Her heart beating faster
"Imagine," she'd say.

That genies existed
And wishes came true
In everyone's yard
For me and for you!

Just then he appeared
As big as she thought
Her eyes blinked three times
The image was caught!

The lamp disappeared
Near the leg of his pant
Her wish had been granted
And she woke up from her nap.
