As she drinks nectar from a flower, sweetness from heaven falls like dew
anointed with a gentle rain amidst sun showers she appears as if on cue
Lifting her wings she lands on a Zinnia beneath a tinted sky of April blue
flight of fancy fanning fast, fabulous marvel, she is beauty true on true
I'm in awe of such natural beauty, her wings resemble church stained glass
I've been captivated by the butterflies lifecycle ever since I was a lass
An egg hatches into a wriggly caterpillar, which munches foliage but that's fine
it transforms into a chrysalis, emerging as a butterfly in the sky and looks divine!

I've never been in a war zone
but one time I got lost on my way to wriggly field
ending up in a tilted, burned-out ghetto.
A cherry pulled me over for being out of place
and said leave asap for it wasn't very safe.
The ballgame was sold out
so, my girl and I went to the zoo instead.
All day long I couldn't shake the ghetto out of my head...
the Zoo-oans were better off than many Chicagoans.
Has praying for sustenance and peace
ever accomplished anything?
If so, it's only a temporary reprieve.
War and poverty are constants in modern society.

wiry wily
snakily snake
like a load of spaghetti
all coily not straight
roundy and writhy
curly with flow
like stringy all knotty
and cotton to sew
a scribble of dribble
all longy in length
and bendy and turny
beginning to end
spirally spiralled
wriggly and roll
wiggled and wavy
like a zigzaggy pole
snakey and snakile
like an old twisty loop
sinewed and mazy
or ouroboros hoop
so anyway a snake
a snake anyway
did I mention a snake
I think I did say

Hedgehog, O hedgehog
dear spiny, meek and mousy poppet.
In England
where the tickly grass grows
greener
we galumph in our rubber boots
up to your little
Hobbit nests
beneath the thorny bushes
were you rests.
We the ever scampy
nippers
fill tin cups with wriggly worms
leave then there
by your dinky
mossy dells.
All the pricky hogs
come from near and nearer,
to snuff and gobble
by the brittle briery
and eat their wormy mush.
Our mucky paws clap
in gay and giggly glee
to see that munchy feast,
their piddly
licky
muzzles
chomping -
quite charming.
Adults say, 'we will catch a flea'
from their pin pointy pelts.
yet we shrug
our never minds, and
our don't cares,
even bring
one tiddly tyke home,
smuggling it up the stairs
to coddle
while we playtime
with some jolly good
fun....

Ripened by the sunshine
Red and very juicy
Ready for me to eat
Rich in vitamin c
Really nice as snacks
Rinse before you eat them -
Risk of small wriggly worms!

The buzz of a bee over electric flowers of yellow and red
one little wriggly worm drop and all the baby birds are fed
green trees releasing oxygen oh ! the power of one sapling
Blossoms of beauty crowning my front porch, I will sing of,
the valor of summer and all of its charm
the valor of summer on my little farm
The fresh air that clings to my breath like fresh linen
and that white cotton dress that says I'm all woman
Sunday services and apple pie, old wood benches painted blue
butterflies flitting about, decked in every color and hue
children's laughter sale craft treasures its all beyond measure
inside this farmhouse I retain every past treasure
the valor of one summer mostly remembered
the valor of one kiss that never dismembered
from this aging mind of mine.

Wriggly, wriggly, Willie Worm,
you’re so cute when you squirm!
You move your body to and fro
and that propels you to up and go!
Squiggly, squiggly, Willie Worm,
you soften the earth when you turn
and channel rain for plants and fruits
to trickle down and water roots.
Wiggly, wiggly, Willie Worm,
do not wander away from home.
You must not let your skin get dry
for you might shrivel up and die!
Giggly, giggly you earn a grin
whenever I feel your wrinkly skin.
I dare to hold you but it’s best
if I don’t, you won’t be stressed.

An ugly, wriggly worm got into his trousers, wiggling and crawling
Reached a place he couldn't scratch, making him wobbling and howling

I am digging in my sandpit
and I find a wriggly worm
I take it to show my mummy
you should have seen her squirm!
She does not like creepy crawlies
as they make her feel quite ill
But she's not seen my new pet spider
I have called my spider Bill!

I’m dining with my cousin Giles
Who disclosed he’d terrible piles
He’s wriggly and twitchy
Cos his butt’s so itchy
His visage is sad, there’s no smiles
He’d tried using soft margarine
This process had just made him scream
So he did not linger
With his index finger
But Anusol worked like a dream
I said it was my understanding
That surgeon ‘s do hemorrhoid banding
But if he has it done
Sitting down he may shun
On this subject I won’t be expanding!
Next time I saw my Cousin Giles
They’d successfully removed his piles
So he can sit down
No trace of a frown
And Giles is chock full of smiles
