Wishing Poems

Premium Memberwishing my neighbors would move away

I keep my alicorn hidden from prying eyes
she only leaves the yard when there are darkened skies
my neighbors to the east are prejudiced against magical beings
intolerant of differences, five unlikable human beings

I think my neighbors to the west can handle mystical creatures.
They have lovely parties with outside movies, double features.
if the neighbors to the east

Premium MemberWishing

George was having a secret love affair
Breaking his marriage vows without a care
A cheater deceiving
A husband believing
That his wife was totally unaware.

But George wife was beginning to suspect
The doubt, the not knowing and disrespect
So she hired a P.I.
To go spy on her guy
But felt uneasy in what to expect.

George phone was tapped and pictures were

a black bird rises up like a hot air balloon
following the sun, trying to locate the moon
with absolute envy I followed her rise
wishing that someday I could fly into the skies

The Looney At The Wishing Well

I spend most of my
days at the wishing
well, tossing in loose
coins and spare change.

One wish for them,
one wish for me,
one wish for them,
one wish for me.

Only thing I ever ask
God or the universe
for myself is to
keep the cash flow
coming in.

Only thing I ever ask
God or the universe
for everybody else is
world peace and
maybe just

Inspired by “Stand Up & Shout” by Ronnie James Dio

Ride Your Wishing Star

In our solar system,
the king of stars is Sun
even though this star
      you cannot outrun,
find a star and make a wish.
       Reach up to the sky.
Grab

Premium MemberWishing she had not had cornea surgery now

Gladys was not so glad today, kind of a surprise
She had cornea surgery and saw better than ever
The old lady in the mirror stared at her with dull eyes
There were wrinkles that seemed to go on forever

When did I get old? She asked. How did this happen here?
You did not die yet, the mirror said.

madrid in springtime

i have never seen madrid in the springtime
i have never seen madrid at all

does the sun rise differently in madrid
than in san francisco
on those rare city days when there is no fog
nor wind to chase the clouds away

i have seen morning in san francisco
where lovers stroll hand in hand
down meandering paths
parting with the

Premium MemberWishing To Be A Tangerine

"A spoonful of fantasy is often the best medicine for reality." - Poet

Somedays I'm a pale apple wishing to be a tangerine.
Fantasy focused fulfillment fondles contentment dreams.
Enthrall me free amid emerald enthused energy,
wrapped snug-complete in scented sachet sheets -
let gleaming threads golden-gloss this glorious bed.
May lyrical lilacs air link, lift and softly dance while
harmony

If only my wishing could make it so,
I would humbly ask for just two things...
To touch a star and set its light aglow
and hear an angel's voice when it sings

Premium MemberWishing for a Woo

The knight was chivalrous, civil, courtly, courteous too
Interested ladies-in-waiting were interested in a woo.
His amorous preferences were unknown to all of them.
He had his eye on Kirk, Derek, Tom, LeRoy and Jim.

Premium MemberThe Fractured Clock

The clock face glares, a mocking, sterile white,
Each tick seemed like a hammer striking a blow upon my soul.
If I could rewind, erase the darkened night,
And make our fractured story whole,

I'd turn back time, erasing all the bitter stings,
The careless words, the thoughtless, and the cruel neglect.
I'd learn to value the happiness that you bring

Wishing Fruitful Age

Wish the young ones
Grow fast as crab
Sweet as sugar.

Wish the bloom one
Learn experience
Life not wasted.

Wish the matured
Work to fruition
Never complaint.

Wish the old ones
Age to golden
Words beholden.

Premium MemberWishing Well

Stella Williams was eight years old, living with her widowed mother-
Happily, though a bit lonely, like powder blue skies, sans sunset color.

The Williams lived in a rural area, with no child Stella's age, nearby.
A farmer in the valley, was the only neighbor, like waves of no reply.

Still, school hours were fun for Stella, like
