Let It Explode

Every day it seems a battle,
finds a way to leave you rattled,
the nonsense you see on TV,
lots of lies from the legacy,
traffic jams, can’t work from home,
boss demands, tell his where to go,
just goes on, the price we must pay,
comes a time you must get away!

I want to go off,
let this thing blow off,
the stress I’ll throw off,
I want to go off.
I want to go off,
let this thing blow off,
the stress I’ll throw off,
let this thing explode.

Find the time, bleed it off slowly,
clear my mind of the unholy,
make a plan, or maybe wing it,
find something that I can sink in.
Get a drink, maybe a woman,
take a trip, get up and go then,
some chaos, can be balancing,
feel alive, that’s what I’m wanting.

I want to go off,
let this thing blow off,
the stress I’ll throw off,
I want to go off.
I want to go off,
let this thing blow off,
the stress I’ll throw off,
let this thing explode.

Let this thing explode,
let this thing explode,
let this thing explode…
every man must unload.

Wing It

Awaken.  Ascend.

a day inside my brain

a day inside my mind

What to do? There is so much news
Trump, my mate, didn't do so well. he thought
 he could wing it
against a woman whose handlers had dissected
Trump's tendency to brag, beside we must not forget
my old mate is seventy-eight
I have posts in the messenger but can't get in the asks
me for code words, they never asked before
 if they have, I have forgotten it all
mind at school, I was good at the multiplication table
but after that, numbers are enemies that cause me
trouble with the tax people
My wife had minor surgery today. I spent
 the day at the hospital had lunch there,
 The hospital is next door to the car- a testing place where I have to bring my old car for testing
once a year, if the vehicle fails
 it will be  a catastrophe if that is not enough,
 I have to renew
my driving license, which we old people have to do
every year to see if we can drive
I have to give the car to my mechanic to iron out the faults
then I have to see a doctor who will test my hearing
and reactions to sudden happenings.
Most of all, I worry about my wife, sit watching
a TV romance, for once, she is silent

and now for my next trick
I will try to be seventy
SEVENTY!
My brain yells “We are twelve!”
My soul yells “nineteen at the most!”
My arthritic ankles yell “we are a hundred.
Being seventy ought to be a cinch.”

What does seventy look like?
How does seventy act?
I know that seventy is invisible.
And seventy’s ideas are discounted
and seventy is easily ignored.

But I have little other knowledge
of how to be seventy.
I guess I will wing it.

A Dollup

A dollup
A trollup
A mole and a troll
Free spring it and wing it
             …reach for the loftiest goals

A habit-ish hobbit
with a knob and grommet
is wearing a rakish sneer

All grasping and gobble
 foam and fobble

Listen!
and you can hear

A rabbit…"Gosh nabbitt!"

A frog and a log

…all frolic, bucolic in the wondrous bog

All foggy and noggy
And wet noodle woggy

   …The Farmaduke start to caw

Premium Member Vampire Sonnets Xxv Amethyst Sky

I met the vampire just as the Sun set
this would be an adventure I just bet;
Fable was already waiting for me
she said ‘This is the start of your journey.

Now how do you think that this will begin?’
‘Well’ I said ‘Maybe I just count to ten.’
I smirked as she  just stood there quietly;
Being hateful was fun undoubtedly;

‘There is a little more to it than that.’
Fable snickered ‘Please do not be a brat.’
‘Now come to me and hop into a sprint.
Pardon the pun but fly up and wing it.’

Into a run and suddenly flew high,
I took off into the amethyst sky.

Dogsitting

Looking after this dog for a couple of weeks,
he seems nice enough.
The problem is I have no idea how much food and water to give him,
How the hell am I supposed to know about a dog's eating habits.
As breakfast time came around, I just had to wing it.
"A couple scoops will do you" I apprehensively said.
As I served him his meal, he turned to me and gave me a sickening look,
Almost like I'd killed his family member or something.
I think I'd given him too little.

Tired Bodies Taking Over

working 12 straight days
she falls asleep on my thigh
no blood circulation, but i just smile anyway
my whole leg will soon be going to sleep with her

working 7 straight 12 hour shifts
my eyes are heavy as well
my heart has a strange rhythm
my temples tingle, and i see very bright spots

like a man, i try to wing it
like a man, i admit that the very exhausted, yet beautiful lady, is right again
sleepiness takes over, and i hear myself snore
next thing we know, it's 4:57am

we feel like we felt medusa's wrath
we decide to go back to sleep right where the lovely journey began
she dreams about winning the lottery
i dream about us taking a cross country trip in an RV

My Dream Vacation

MY DREAM VACATION

Sharing juicy oranges on a dusty Spanish pavement
The cloudless sky offers no respite from the relentless sun
Free of time concerns, we cycle to our next ad-lib adventure
Guided by suggestions not structure
Blown by the wind, we wing it to wherever
We are not bound by the books

They say: "life is just beyond your comfort zone"
I would add "memories do not follow a timetables"
The unknown awaits the unscheduled

I will long remember the feel of the sticky juice on my hands but the memories of luxury dinners have faded

But planless isn't always painless
Carefully consider your companion
A timid friend will be too traditionalistic to escape
An incautious friend may be imprudent or frivolous
A considered choice of companion opens off-road experiences

Be brave, be adventurous
Escape from conservative chains
Liberated, fly free.

Premium Member The Purge

I will report what I have put in the car to be given away today.

So many options that we discussed clouded my confused mind.

You must understand that people like me survive by luck and wit alone.

It is rarely a finished project.
Rarely a completed job.
It is a circus we live in, between the acts,
our giftedness provides.

We are not quiet and seldom still enough
to hear all the directions.
We wing it and lose so many objects as we purge our time away,
and actually,
I went to write a poem right after our last conversation.

When I am pointed in many directions, I often give up.
So I did not plan, no schedule devised,
but I threw and gave away,
debris cluttering up my mind.
From the muddled mind me,

Mind To Mind

Vehicles of verse serve to prove
how passions and purposes move
from mind to mind.

Our choice letters turn into words;
missives sung by persuasive birds
no axe to grind.

Optimal words will brake at lines
to drive the stanzas home by signs
a nest to find.

While I prefer form as my gauge
some free range bards refuse that cage
the wing-it kind.

Vehicles of verse are the arm
empowering content to charm
when wined and dined.

Wings of Prayers

this breathless wind befalls tonight
a whispered voice upon my ear
an angel stands within the light
its wing it spans to catch my tear

From my angel of comfort poem

Angel of Comfort

this breathless wind befalls tonight
a whispered voice upon my ear
an angel stands within the light
its wing it spans to catch my tear

my soul it speaks so it can hear
a tale of pain in mind alight
it offers comfort when it's near
then slowly spreads its wings in flight
