O’ my dearest love,  
I gather the world’s rarest petals for you—  
Ghost Orchid fragrance lingers  
in the marsh’s quiet air  

look, love, it fades  
then rises in  
the curve of my hands  
on the curve of your hips—  
like time  
like breath
like us.

A wild flower, grew up through
a crack in the pavement, I wondered,
why already not trampled
by so many preoccupied feet?  

Sat I down on a 
park-bench, further pondering this yellow
charmer, to which I cordially gave greet -- 

“little tenant,” oh just missed another!

Thinking I saw it, knowingly parry aside;

A peach coloured blossom
With bright yellow stamens around her navel

She had an exquisite charm
With a seductive smile
So pretty that she could put to shame
Her garden cousins stationed high

She nodded her head in the breeze
As if to invite the footloose ramblers
Who might chance to pass that way

Not a soul for miles
In lea of a lonely isle,
And a flower smiles,
Seen or not, liked or not, smiles,

from dawn to dusk.
Holds all the colours and yet is colourless.
Is guarded/surrounded by giant serpents,
spewing venom when angered.

A Simple Wild Flower

In the fields of life she grows wild and free
amongst the wild flowers soaking the sun;
gracing the world with her simple beauty
this sweet wild flower is second to none;
while spreading her seed from mountain to sea,
this simple dandelion forever free.

She’s seen in the meadow facing the sky;
gently swaying with the warm summer breeze;

Your spores, seeds not gratuitously panned
Randomly disbursing; o'er dale, hill fanned
In due season, without preening hand
In quilted colonies, shroud the hinterland

No cultivating touches o'er clandestine strand
No manicured plot o'er uncultured roots spanned
No bridled station your space to remand
In tidy rows you'll never band

No gilded plot, burnished borders to withstand
In unfettered, raw beauty o'er pristine vistas
