An unpretentious wild flower Peeped out of the crannied stone ledge A peach coloured blossom With bright yellow stamens around her navel She had an exquisite charm With a seductive smile So pretty that she could put to shame Her garden cousins stationed high She nodded her head in the breeze As if to invite the footloose ramblers Who might chance to pass that way To feast on her beauty And taste her fragrance Ere she falls down dead Sans parting knell Sans ceremony In that wilderness In another day's time, Unnoticed, Untouched Unsung! I always marvel at where a single flower sometimes grows. The setting adds to the beauty of creation. I enjoyed your poem and the way you used metaphors throughout. Blessings my dear friend, Bill

Your use of metaphors is a feast for the ears and eyes, Valsa; I appreciate you sharing them. In addition, the sight of a single flower may be so enticing that it pushes you to collect additional flowers and make a bouquet out of them. Best for a win

This is a bittersweet poem, the pride of fall, a passing flower.

Dearest Valsa, your perceptive pen spills incredible delicate beauty in the portrait of a wild flower. Your last three lines reveal such poignant desolate depth, but for the shining gift of your compassionate pen to bring your reader there to gaze upon her "exquisite charm" and appreciate "An unpretentious wild flower". Your golden pen is glorious, my inspiring friend. A splendid poetic gem! Warmest wishes and hugs.. ~Susan

Valsa you tell the story of this flower and give it feelings. Such a creative mind you have. I felt for the flower. Now I will never look at a flower again without realizing what you wrote... Excellent and clever. A favorite... God bless you Dear...

Many women seem to feel like a withered flower as they age, yet men still find their innate beauty compelling . . . .Aloha!

Such imagery is a delight to the senses Valsa. And the image of a lone, brave wildflower in the garden is brilliant! Linda

A beautiful flower sprouting out of stones and cement (photo is not visible )--is a sight to behold--nature's fine guide to survival--you brought forth its splendor, Valsa. Best to you.

Sometimes wildflowers are so attractive that they invite you to make a bouquet of them.

As you said, there are angels among doctors. To tell you what I have written about my cousin and my sister is a truth. My cousin is a renowned doctor in Kanyakumari District. She truly did this blunder of kidneys stitching together. My sister is surviving with a single kidney now. This was a family-matter. Hence, none took the doctor to task. Yet, my intention is not spoiling the reputation of doctors. For me, it was a fun-writing. Sorry, if it has hurt you.

I thought what you wrote about your sister was fictional. Now I understand that there is reason for you to feel bitter about doctors who handle their profession without any commitment. There are over a dozen doctors in my close family including my brother who was a cardio vascular surgeon, who practised in America, now retired and his daughter, a doc. in US. My brother was so committed. Fortunately my son who is still young and rather inexperienced is so compassionate and shall do anything even out of the way for his patients. That way I am proud of him. Chris, I didn't feel offended at all. Just gave you my opinion. There is no need to feel sorry. Each one has different experiences. If I were in your position, I would have reacted even more. I thought it was a fun write.

Very beautiful work. By the way, thank you very much for commenting on my poem on Doctor Harold. You are right, indeed. To tell you frankly, I enjoyed writing this poem. Some things are truths too. I love doctors, yet. I have so many doctor friends. I think they will just laugh it our reading this.
