Premium MemberHappy Valentines day

Bouquet of flowers with bright red roses,
dinner and wine, as evening approaches,
beginning of love, is dawn of new life,
when two hearts dearly wish, god disposes.

Fervent dreams walk the edge of a sharp knife,
their racing pulse, have some reason for strife,
blushing faces hold hands in deep romance,
pray one day the two be husband and wife.

Dim lit ambience, whispers, furtive glance,
perfumes and music do their love enhance,
words are said yet no one knows what to say,
desires in bodies reverberate a dance.

This day is the first of many such days,
when new love finds fresh love to pave new ways,
some end in Yes, some may start with a nay,
Rest assured, true love will go all the way!

Premium MemberTHREE KISSES MORE

What a wonderful coincidence
I wanted to share with you if I may,
Pressed my code needed for validation,
And three ***’s came up yippee,
Not only for me,
So, sending everyone kisses galore,
It’s still Valentine’s Day and moving,
Towards an evening of romance,
Who is your secret love you adore,
Your betrothed or your partner,
Your love across the seas,
Your wife or your husband, your girlfriend,
your boyfriend,
Whoever it is, hope you have the time
Of your life, remember everyone gets
Three ***’s kisses [more.]

Premium MemberPersistent Valentine Chimpanzee

Valentine’s day chimpanzee has designs on me
I tell him I am taken, and he says “tee hee!”
I show him my initial, the ancient letter C.
He says come and sit down up my knee.

I tell him I am old enough to remember Paul Klee
He says we should spoon under the old oak tree
I tell him I cannot, for today they give ice cream for free
Introducing him to the king of the Old Grand Prix

My husband Chick looks down at the tiny chimpanzee
Scaring him so hard, that the little guy doth flee
He shot off faster than a golf ball on a magic tee.
I guess my husband Chickadee plans on keeping me.

Premium MemberValentine Hearts

I close my eyes and you, my love, are there.
I hear your deep voice as in our love song:
“Endless Love”, you sang, and I am aware
Your missing arms are where I most belong.
So many years we learned to share our parts
As our divine souls melded into one,
We loved each moment in our heart of hearts,
Such opposites we were, yet we had fun.
As this romantic lover’s day arrives,
My memories of you are crystal clear.
You Rest In Peace my love, yet our love thrives,
My spirit feels your spirit always near.

Deep in my heart I know you still are mine.
You will forever be…….my Valentine.

OUR VALENTINE TRIP

We are off to the seaside to play,
After all it is close to Valentine’s day,
What more could my husband say,
Than I love you , lets go splash and spray
By the sea,
Just you and me,
Forget everything back home for a while,
While we relax, love and smile!

I spent the large part of love’s holiday
at home alone with just my dog and cat.
My husband was out driving far away;
I often am alone and don’t mind that.

When I got home from church, what I did first
was take my dog out in the neighborhood.
The weather, thankfully, was not its worst.
From half an hour of walking I felt good.

I did my emails next and got to read
my good friends’ poetry. As night drew near
I cooked our dinner; it was nice indeed,
for home from work my dear would soon appear!

We went out Monday. That was fine by me!
A day late, but together we could be.

Premium MemberMy Cynical Valentine

The ‘price of love’ rises just for one day of the year Stick a cardboard heart on some merchandise - the price quadruples! Every February we see ‘love’ lying in neat rows on the shop shelves Cards, chocolates, flowers, perfume and cute fluffy toys A sea of red roses that stretches as far as the eye can see For some reason these roses are never Buy One Get One Free!!!! The prices they charge rise quicker than a red heart shaped helium balloon Yet on 15th February everything will be half price Is this the price of true love or am I just a cynic? I’ve never had a Valentine from my husband, or him from me We don’t need to prove our love on just one day of the year Jan Allison 3rd February 2016

Premium MemberMy Love

We dance upon silver clouds
We promenade on moon beams
Holding hands in happy harmony
We share kisses under heaven's skies
You are the moon I reach for at night
You are the stars floating in my eyes
You are the warm golden rays that caress
As we drink from each others spirit
You are a calm reflection on rough water
As we float along life's pathway
Our bonds are forged by gentle hands
We reach for each other in the darkness
As we whisper into the midnight winds
I kiss the stars in your eyes my love.

To my Loving Wife on this St. Valentine Day

They say that Saint Valentines

Comes but once a year

I think they are mistaken

Every time I hold you near

Our cupid has an arrow

For each and ever day

Cause I feel it pierce my heart

Each time you come my way

So, Thanks to Saint Valentines

For giving us a reason

In remembering one day

Of this long Loving season

Your Loving Husband & part time Zombie

I
hold your
beating heart
in my naked
palms. Your eyes reveal
the love you can’t express—
A tenderness, well disguised
by strong broad shoulders and male pride.
Yet I know the heart that beats inside.
It is a Valentine that melds with mine.

*Dedicated to my husband Michael
