My Valentine

I 
hold your
beating heart
in my naked
palms. Your eyes reveal
the love you can’t express—
A tenderness, well disguised
by strong broad shoulders and male pride.
Yet I know the heart that beats inside.
It is a Valentine that melds with mine.
