Premium Member Living Out

Life in the phase of living it out is still enjoying itself
It produces small reasons for contentment
It hones the skill of distracting itself with trifles
Not unsuccessfully it attempts to insert a smile wherever possible
Knowing that there are no hopes, it hopes
In full accordance with the foolish saying that hope dies last
Life tries to become more foolish in order to gain strength
Still keeps some secrets nobody cares to know
It lies in bed with open eyes
Watching the performances of the sky or the chandelier
But life never looks inside itself
It must be damp and poorly lit down there
Wouldn't it be easier to play solitaire
Or look at the pictures of the sea again.

Premium Member The Bird and The Worm

Crawling upon desecrated ashes,
whispers haunt ~
“You will never make it.”

Vermilion skies rumble over the brutal horizon,
splitting open as a deafening rain pours forth,
drenching an already collapsing body.

Splaying nails rip into hollow earth.
Eerie silhouettes dance in the lightning flashes.
It’s getting harder to see now —
fear surging, lungs straining,
losing control.

Darkness engulfs, swallowing the sun.
Panic sets in; urgency is now a must,
for night brings what cannot be spoken.

Cortisol spikes, muscles spasm.
Faster, he must crawl ~
death is imminent if he cannot find the door.

Feeling blindly through infectious petrichor,
his palms meet nothing but cold decay.

Macabre laughter circles around him.
Praying, he reaches out one more time —
unsuccessfully.

Closing his eyes, red-hot pain
flows over his flesh,
devoured by the very demons
he could not escape.

Premium Member attempting to learn bird speak

bird-speak is inexplicably complicated
I try to imitate it, but unsuccessfully
it is impossible without a beak
a mouth cannot replicate these sounds
I dare not try to decipher their meaning
without benefit of mimicry

Premium Member Tried To Stop Loving You

Lord knows that I really tried
I unsuccessfully tried to stop
Loving you. On the very top
Of my list that’s what I had.

I tried to follow your ideas
As you have rejected me
Like an unwanted sick baby
In my head, you’ve put fears.

I tried and I cried like a child
In the absence of his mother
I found you strange and wild.

Lord knows, I tried very hard
To forget you like a thunder
I dismally failed and I cried.

Intenté Dejar De Amarte

Dios sabe que realmente lo intenté
Intenté detenerme sin éxito
Amándote. En la cima de mi lista
Mi amor, eso es lo que tenía.

Intenté seguir tus ideas
Como me has rechazado
Como un bebé enfermo no deseado
En mi cabeza has puesto miedos.

Lo intenté y lloré como un niño.
En ausencia de su madre
Te encontré extraño y salvaje.

Dios sabe, lo intenté con esfuerzo
Para olvidarte como un trueno
Fracasé estrepitosamente y lloré.

Assassin

Killing bit of soul everyday
Is only one gun hammer click away
Hidden behind the blanketed curtain
Hidden from sight so sure of a win
And shielded force from the light of day
A murderous horde of sold out souls
Claiming blood beating fearfully cold
For crimes of unwitting imagination
Committed and unsuccessfully sold
Without communication

Premium Member Overthinking

The questions of life are daunting,
I search for a visible clue.
Unsuccessfully it's haunting,
And I don't know what I will do.

Racking my brain each day for hours,
I feel my resolve is sinking.
An enigma that soon devours,
I'm guilty of overthinking.

Trapped by this hopeless endeavor,
My sanity is all for naught.
I now find myself forever,
Lost in a labyrinth of thought.

Self Healing

Like a fountain of gaseous magma,
My heart pours out grief daily,
This pain hits differently,
Crumbling the four walls of my heart,
I've bottled up this fumes unsuccessfully,
Believing grown men don't cry,
Now my eyes are saturated from within,
Drowning every courage I have gathered.

I'm quick to tears each time I try to speak,
I hold back the words and my heart sinks,
Like a small canoe in the stormy seas,
Navigating stubbornly against the tides,
Gulp after gulp, I'm swallowing my voice,
This salty water leaves my tongue afloat,
Mumbling gibberishly upon deaf ears,
With pitied eyes searching for the shore.

Settled on this island of vulnerability,
I'm scribbling out the words from my heart,
The words my mouth have failed to speak,
The words that have overcrowded my mind,
Freeing up my burdens expressing my pains
Searching for the light within my darkness,
Finding strength in my own weaknesses,
Swallowing the bitter pills of self healing.

Let Us Talk Like Strangers

Let us talk like strangers,
And clear out the air.
Whatever has happened between us,
Let us forget and not point a chair.

Let us not pinpoint
The mischievous brain of ours,
Who was unsuccessfully successful
In drifting us apart.

Hi its me Saswat.
That guy, who used to sit behind you
When no one else wanted to.
who just took off late at night,
On the scooter with all his fears,
Just to fulfill your wishes and desires to name a few.

I don’t regret the marks of the belt on my body,
Or the scratches on the scooter which could have turned bloody.
Nevertheless its good to know,
That you are at least reading this,
Because its been years since you might have even thought of me.

Despite of all the people who were involved,
All those who prayed for us to be apart.
Somehow there’s something,
Something that’s keeping me alive,
to look at your face and roll a dice.
Gamble with none, betting your fragrance
Hoping to recite this in person,
When you wear your wedding attire.

Premium Member A Halloween Dream

Occasionally I dream.
Black ominous spots as my eyes close.
A dream I never remember,
A dream I don't want to remember.
For when I do I cringe with fear,
Sit in a corner of my darkened room,
Trying unsuccessfully to forget.

Fitful recurring dream,
That leaves the palate dry,
Devoid of savored zest,
Flat as unleavened bread.
Murky shadows in a dark room,
Swirling, gasping, mutely roaring,
Ugly, brusque, dyspeptic, and morose.
It gyrates meaninglessly in the void,

A menacing, unpleasant stench
That eventually dissolves into nothingness.
A dream orchestrated to confuse,
Meant to gradually unhinge the mind.
So fatigued, I sleep and dream.
The rest I am awake to face
The terrors of the night.
Surrounded by four impenetrable walls.

That Wonderful Feeling of Liberation

That wonderful feeling of liberation
She had for long longed for it
No prying, no following, no questioning
She had tried some of these on her then beau,
But unsuccessfully
Affections for her
Not just shared, but ignored
Circumstances made her bide her time
And now her time had come
The lingerie, no more lingering
Unstrapped, pulled down
Floods of affection
Genuine, true and deserving
She ultimately breaks free
Oh that wonderful feeling of liberation

Premium Member Plattsburgh

It's a pretty little town in northern New York State.
To visitors of the region, everything looks great.
There was one obscure fact of which I was not aware:
A big War of 1812 battle was fought there.

A large British and Canadian force started a campaign
to seize control of upper New York and Lake Champlain.
British ships under the command of Captain George Downie
fought American ships and armed forces unsuccessfully.
The British captain became an unfortunate casualty.
Not long after, all hostilities would cease.
The Treaty of Ghent ended the war and brought peace.

I thank wikipedia.org for valuable information I obtained to write this poem.

Premium Member The Call of the Peacemaker

So as I was trying to study unsuccessfully all day, attempting to get ready for tomorrow, I finally gave up. The following came out instead. Funny how it is with me. I read a post by someone that had been reading a book, and it grabbed my attention. Then heard a song that I hadn’t heard before. While those two events were rotating in my posterior cingulate cortex and medial temporal lobe, this came out. I only had a few minutes to write it down before I lost it. Not sure if my geographical references, or historical names and dates are right, so I’ll just blame the wind. And it’s not really about Native American, black, white, or race. It’s “The Call of The Peacemaker”
Or
“The Wind Cries Out For Change”

Premium Member Obeying Time's Decree

I salute you oh, mighty Time:

My best friend,

My worst enemy

For

To live without you is simply

Unimaginable!

Throughout my existence

I have, unsuccessfully, struggled to accept

Whatever you brought to me,

Either it was a sweet smile

Or a bitter tear with

Equanimity

Since

I could not enjoy the one

Without

Suffering the presence of

The other

For

This, you told me, is the order of things,

This is what the heavens

Decree,

But

I, a fool ignorant, resisted!

Now, however,

Older and wiser, an obedient child of yours, oh Time,

I have finally become

So as

To abide by your universal rules

Of growth and decay

Without

My tightened lips, a single complaint to

pronounce!

Premium Member L Is For Love

L is for the matches love my beloved
Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ.
Love is what my blessed savior
has freely bequeathed unto me.

L is for his candlestick shining in the darkness.
It shines throughout his life for the whole
wide wonderful world to see.

L is for his lampstand for his special
chosen people of the Jewish race.
It is for Christians loving the Jewish people.

Love is for freedom from deepest darkest
depression and misery. Which only seek
to unsuccessfully destroy other suffers such as me.

Love is for freedom of addiction. We are not
subservient to alcohol, tobacco, vaping or drugs.
Love of sugar seeks to entice willing victims.

Love is the blessed assurance of our wonderful savior.
L is for the love he showed for people at the Cross of Calvary.
Our own special savior shed his blood to redeem our souls.

L is the freedom of everlasting life. Guaranteed to all believers
and followers of Jesus Christ. He made the ultimate sacrifice
of his earthly life! L is for freedom from death, hell and the grave!

Love in Christ Jesus!
