our platform had no newspapers, so i yelled at someone to throw one across the tracks

i need to know what's going on
we're barren over here, yet over there
look at them smugly reading the NEWS

'can you throw one over pal?'
he pretends not to hear me
and looks down the platform

he's pretending to see if his train is about to 
arrive, thomas and friends, and it won't be
here soon, so wind it in

Ripples and Tracks, Dreams and Memories

Lakes and beaches are wiped clean like a whiteboard, 
each day by waves, tide, wind.
Then marks of ripples and tracks provide transient tell-tales
of what has gone on since, of what is yet to come.
What caused those ripples? Where did they come from?
What caused those tracks marking crisscross paths on the sand?
From whence did they come?

I tried to get you out of my head
I tried to get you out of my heart
But there was no way out for me
I was in too deep from the start

And even when I tried to leave
The ghosts of us would hold me back

Belief only comforts the fool
wondering is a tool
Everybody's going round in
cycles
never settling down
with someone
They are at once all lye
and drowned
ringing for a chance
penchantly they rob
themselves of honour
digging a hole
to cover their tracks

Colossal Confidence Meets Cold Steel

My fake confidence
Could surely kill you,
Large and colossal,
A giant in its hard shell.

It clings to me,
Armor I didn’t choose,
A brittle shield
That I’ve painted gold.
I see your ego drilling into you,
Spiraling, twisting,
Digging deeper than you know.

There’s no turning back—
You’re tied to the tracks.
The iron bites,
A weight you thought you could carry.
The whistle is blowing,
Echoing through the

On tracks of fervent dreams, Trump train rolls ahead
Banners flying high, carries hopes widespread
Through valleys deep, mountains tall, it's a loud, united cheer
Forging our path, with no room left for fear

Woke up with a roar,
bengal tracks pepper the sky;
Unleash your beastie.

Allow me to introduce myself,
friends tend to call me Saturn’s MelRose;
Once you read me? I stay off the shelf;

I run around in a sweet saucer 
all decked out in salmon pink and green;
It runs on the smoothest ice water;

Vast emerald and rose trails take wing,
my reputation always proceeds;
Ship arrival’s got music blasting;

Bear Tracks In The Snow

You come to me, palpable,
The way a candle flickers
When the air is stirred,
A vague mirage, a sense
Of metaphysical existence
But here, nevertheless,
A wondering sensation one never forgets

More than just a curiosity
A part of me rises to you,
Relinquishes itself to your fond greeting
Almost forgetting that it wants
What it doesn’t want – 
Something sweeter I once knew

Stalking every dream
calling me from sleep
A Yeti of the frozen night
I drove the pitons deep

Climbing over hope
belaying every wish
The tracks it leaves — perdition bound
  to wander in the mist

The Bridge Above The Rivers Bend

Train bypassing just over the rivers bend
Sturdiest and unpromising of bridges, carry my feet along your lumber
Steal away the time I should be an honorable member of society
Keep me as your own and offer me company as you do the passing trains

Just before the sunrise do your wood beams greet the world, before those of

Narrowing Tracks

Grit flies from spinning rubber,
the traffic is edging through roads,
narrowed, by the plowed and pushed aside.

Curb-side snow remains; solid humps turn brown,
in an un-melting light.

A lone chicken hawk circles an iced-over acre
of snaking roadway,

its black track attracts the birds eye,
as if it were the contrail of an elongated rat,
stretching into a bolt- hole of frozen

Upon silver tracks, in moments held in suspense

Upon silver tracks, in moments held in suspense,
Gentle steps of angels are faintly heard, idly interlaced.
The vault of heaven quivers in translucent azure;
Through the eternities creeps a divine murmur, cold and alive.
The pure echo of the evening mingles with the sunset,
With the shadowed blue, that in the wing of night vibrates and rises.

The House By the Tracks

There’s a house out across the creek, 
just an old rundown two-room shack.
Each time I drive out past it now, 
those memories come flooding back.

It’s the house that held my childhood, 
where all fifteen of us were raised.
A loving piece of treasured youth, 
only a pile of sticks these days.
