Waiting for the Third Day, A Muse Chronicle

Muse - Day 1, 2016

For years I had read
Not realizing what I too, had given…

I had given, just not sure what I received in return.

So, in these, my later years thinking on this...
I approached morning’s-day Muse
Fresh with the Sun.

From all I had become in the Sum of Days 
Muse asked gently of me...
“Who are you?”

Third Wheel

I sometimes wonder if I’m meant to be a third wheeler
In friendships, romance, and in the world
Standing on the sidelines always dreaming
I notice them siting together 
Her arm wrapped around him; they both smile carefree
I close my eyes and wish I was them

The Third Option

There was a dreary blip in my life
I feared two depressing outcomes

The first, hell
I separate myself from societal pressures
I accept who I am
I let go of all that abuse that has kept me who I was
I let go of hiding behind a hundred carefully tailored masks
Just so one may approve of me
But in return
I risk

Lunch on Third Avenue

Had lunch with a friend
And we sat in the shade
In a sidewalk arrangement
The restaurant made.

I live on the east side
And she on the west.
We meet to catch up 
At each other’s request.

The corner was busy
And traffic zipped by.
With sirens and buses,
I’m not gonna lie,

The noisiness level
Was blaring and loud,
Plus bulldozers rolled
As pedestrians cowed.

in a ball of bluff

It was our third and final day trip.
We visited AI on The Great Ocean Road.
For the first time, you admired the scenery was great,
While standing at a cliff, looked down to the coast line.
The blue sky reflected on the water,
The waves splashed onto the rocks
Formed strong collisions then sprayed into the air.
