First grade, pelted with eggs
Second grade, broke both legs
Third grade, fell down the stairs
Fourth grade, clawed by a bear
Fifth grade, ran into a tree
Sixth grade, twisted a knee
Seventh grade, concussed my head
Eighth grade, fell out of bed
Ninth grade, had meningitis
Tenth grade, appendicitis
Eleventh grade, torn hamstring
Twelfth grade, acute bee sting...
So, to allay any fears from admission committees
I wrote the following college application ditty:
You may consider me somewhat injury-prone
But I have yet to break my first wishbone
And I give you my whole-hearted assurance
That I will use my parents' health insurance
Two Months
(Since you've been in Heaven)
By Franklin Price

Dear Lord, today marks two months since my Barbara left this life
Since You, in love and kindness, took away her pain and strife
You waited 'til our daughter Dani, could be with us on that day
We held tightly to each other as you took Barb's soul away
Thank you Lord and Savior for the ultimate you gave
Your only son, upon the cross, for our sinful lives to save
Barb's with you up in Heaven for she believed that this is true
I'll join her when it's my time, for I do believe it too
Dani stayed with me 'til Sunday. The two of us, both laughed and cried.
We celebrated lives together, knowing Barb was by your side
Part of all our lives, is death. The ones left, then must progress
Dwelling on the dear departed, can make the left one's lives a mess
Alone and left with sorrow, thinking only, “woe is me”
I heard her voice from heaven, “It will be okay, you'll see”.
Facebook posts, and phone calls, E-mails, cards, more than a few.
The love was overwhelming, allowing life to start anew
God, you blessed me with my poetry to help me try to understand
Sent an old time friend to visit, to help me out and hold my hand
Last week I went to Florida to see my family and friends
All of them brought joy to me, For those I missed, I make amends.
I have more friends than I deserve. Time was through before I knew
I love you, though I did not see you. I know there's more than just a few.
God, I want to thank you for everything you've given me
For touching hands, down here on Earth, for my friends and family.
You safely brought a new life, to my down trod mourning scene
A Great grandchild to celebrate, and his given name is Dean
We're going out to see him when Barbara's birthday comes around
On the twenty-third of April, we will hear his first hand sound
You read right, I'm saying we, Barb is always in my heart
She'll see Dean through my own eyes, though she's seen him from the start
I know that she was looking down when he took a breath and cried
From Heaven she was watching, for she would not be denied
Although I'm still in mourning, it's with a forward facing smile
I know that's what Barb wants for me, for a frown's just not my style.
Did you ever hear the lapping
of the tide as it comes in?
Ever closer,
never backing away.
As I strengthen my castle walls,
against its ever constant progress,
I know that I am doomed.
As the first wave crashes
through the walls,
I know all is lost.
The second, and then
the third.
Sometimes my life feels like
that castle,
Awashed.
Great apes are the second most intelligent animals
Next to humans of course except for one of my friends
According to many scientific theories, we evolved from the ape family
Aha, that explains my friend Walter
They follow an extreme social life and express different types of emotions
So does Walter, and when he gets overly excited
He jumps up and down and sometimes he pees himself
Where Walter sort of falls behind a bit is making his own home
Using primitive tools and also searching for food in the forest
All in all Walter is a nice enough fellow
But great apes leave him in the dust when it comes to language skills
Oh Walter is not exactly illiterate but let;s put it this way
One a scale of one to ten...
Apes are about a seven and Walter is a distant third at four!
Walter and I grew up together, discovered girls together
But he still hasn't figured out the boy/girl thingy yet
However there's still time, he's only seventy something!

I once met a drunken man there
Under the shade of the calabash tree
With a gourd of wine downed to the lees.
He said to me when I came up:
See, see my friend, I tell you
From that yonder village I come
I observe there are just two cowards living.
The first is so peaceful he avoids
A fight with the evils that go on
And so evil took over the land
With no resistance and exiled him from home.
The second very aggressive, I tell you
Fights the helpless and common man
And fears the powerful
Who subjects and exploits him.
And I asked him which he prefers.
None, none, he said and hiccupped
Holding up his wine gourd.
I am so disappointed with these things
So I take four quarts each day
To be mindless of it all.
Then sir, I said, with all respect
You observed two cowards
But I surely have met a third coward!
Traffic's silent tonight
Ninnekah smiles her Meth Head smile
Tonight she's in a heavy disguise
She looks at her wrist to clock the passing time
Weather's mild tonight
She wonders will they notice her tired eyes
She wonders will her Adelita wigs survive
And will they see she's going down a third time
Everybody tries - She sees herself as JayLo on the mild
But really she’s a Deathrow Rapist’s child
Long ago perfecting a motionless slide
For Fifteen years she put her future aside
Ninnekah seems so sure and so poised
She shimmers for the Urns on the shelf
And says, "Love is for others, but me it destroys"
She wasn’t the girl in the cake
Got pregnant too soon by mistake
Someone told her her brain was half baked
And Ninnekah lifted her Texas Steel Reserve
And said, "Cheers"
She stands to one side
There's no more to this than meets the eye
Everybody drinks cheap generic Beer dry
And talks about those plaid shirt and pink hair styles
They said she did it - with grace
They said she did it – with style
They said she did them all
Oh, they said before she died
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
I remember Ninnekah Smiles
Nobody saw her go
They said they should have noticed
'Cause her living conditions were so low
Well, it only goes to show
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
How many real men do any of them know
She climbed the dining room chair
Stood silent alone in the air
Tied her lame belt around the plastic chandelier
And went out kicking at the overly perfumed air
Oh, oh
They said she did it - with grace
They said she did it - with style
They said she did them all
Oh?
They said it before she died
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Now no one remembers Ninnekah Smiles
A king viper came to family run inn
filled with pride his eyes pierced the soul darkness
cold and lonely seeking the warmth within inviting
begging dressed in the finest silk tailored to the nines
shoes shined with a dazzling smile summoning friendship
He had the sweetest manner about him
politely waltzing words just drooled from the split
pretending to care looking for charity
The innkeeper offered him a room gracefully
when he had declared his nature true
as good unbelievable in the morning awakens
breakfast was ready for everyone set like a feast
Dishes where washed afterwards
charming the company they claimed as family
he was the perfect host celebrating with him
lovingly happiness danced for joy
Until the third day everyone was killed as they slept
every trick under a sun was deployed emotionally corrupt
slowly shedding layer after layer of heartbreaking tales
not protecting our shield properly we fall an open target
in the end we can see burdened choices cross over
where silver and gold holds the key to open gates
Prison is more than what meets the eye,
Her beauty is more than what meets the eye.
I don’t want to be a third wheel, just you and I.
No one can type without pressing you and I.
Prisoners we all are despite being free.
Some might be behind bars, some in bars.
I say again prisoners we all are despite being free.
Age is not a qualification to be a prisoner,
So is masturbation, when one is addicted to it.
So is a disease, cult and finally death.
All which can’t be controlled by drugs which are taken hourly.
I say again prisoners we all are despite being free.
Marriage, by choosing to marry, we commit our lives to one person,
We sign up for a life sentence.
I say again prisoners we all are despite being free.
Careers we choose dedicating our time and energy to,
Building and constructing its foundation day and night.
Through blood and sweat we pump our energy.
As staff, corporate members, politicians, innovators, artists and many more.
Our career clocks tick from seconds to minutes to years to decades.
I say again prisoners we all are despite being free.
Tantra is the direct here and now energy path
Felt within, each breath of God, a holy sabbath
The tantric perspective is simple
Demystifying mystical parables
Christ consciousness centre is between our eyebrows
Wherein God bestowed wisdom and bliss currents furrow
This chakra centre, the Ajna, in polarity to the Medulla
Entwines with crown - Sahasrara and heart - Anahata
Thus higher and lower minds meld with love
With Gods blessings from within and above
This wisdom is known as of karmic seeds sown
Blossoming at third eye, when ego we disown
We each have the potential
To behold this divine miracle
Within

A traveler am I.
Through the vast emptiness I fly.
.......Time..........
Has no meaning nor rhyme.
Day and night, one and the same.
Since the sun lost its flame.
My heart beat sounds so loud.
So alone, lost in a cloud.
Civilization, no longer so proud.
A fleeting thought.
For this we fought.
Nowhere left to go.
No one left to know.
What was, is no more.
Mankind lost itself to war.
Like so many lost in the past.
Maybe mankind wasn't meant to last.
Drawn to war.
Peace was left on the floor.
Life was tossed out the door.
Sadly I shake my head.
Third universe I have found dead.
Why do humans act this way.
Together they cannot play.
A lifetime passes so fast.
Thinking maybe I'm the last.
With a tear in my eye.
Onward I fly.
Humanity passes on when I die.
Didn't think they'd let it get this far.
I'm searching for a new star.
Such a shame.
Each other they held to blame.
Everywhere I've been,it's the same.
All they had to do was get along.
Yet to war they were drawn.
Sad.
Too bad
