Daughter of Kings, Daughter of Mine: I

Passionate:

Fiery passion burns,
      Within her free spirit borne;
            Lovely flaming heart.
   Pity the fool locking gaze,
Cinder left - her path ablaze.

Beautiful:

Striking beauty she,
      Always lovely with to be;
            Her frolicking soul.
    Laughter follows ev'ry move,
Dancing - eating all her food.

Wise:

Old wisdom resides,
       A lady young with blue eyes;
            Discerning what's true.
    Not so gentle insight to,
Those in need of tough love - truth.

People and Clowns 1 (Tanka)
   People laugh at clowns
for entertainment and sport
   because clown are fools
who laugh at them in return
   because they mimic people.
                    ***

People and Clowns 2 (Senryu)
   Clowns make people laugh,
and people laugh because clowns
   are funny people.
                    ***

People and Clowns 3 (Tanka)
   People laugh at clowns,
and clowns laugh back at people,
   and marvelously,
they both laugh at each other,
   and then they laugh together.
                    ***

Apple Picking - Double Tanka

It wasn't just some,
the entire orchard was ripe!
Crisp fuji apples...
they would taste so good... maybe...
But I can't reach those! They're high!

I climb the ladder,
reach for an apple - and fall.
Come on! Grab it now!
Yay! I got it! Mmm... it's good.
Wait... is this the wrong orchard?

Antics aplenty
Plastic dog poop everywhere
Rude whoopee cushions
Is your fridge running? Catch it!

Premium MemberMy Nightly Visitors

As summer begins,
frequent visitors woo me;
Mosquitoes in stripes~
Stealing kisses on my cheeks,
Leaving kiss marks left and right.

One day in garden
I was digging into dirt
Hit unknown bees nest
I was swarmed, attacked and stung
Running as I ripped off shirt!

Roommate mosquito
waits for me to hit the sack
turns to a vampire,
my hand strikes as a hammer,
it flies out, I break my neck.

Bugs At Meal

Every night during
meals, when my son is eating
his dish with relish
bugs fly around him, he shouts
with fright, until they go out

Maybe because he
dislikes them, they hover near
him only as if
they like him very much. This
is very funny indeed.

We all are around
why they come near you only
we ask him while we
are laughing. He doesn't find
it funny, just wants to eat

Premium MemberIncredibly Itchy

a wasp jabs its sting
deep into my derriere
a butt load of itch...
too embarrassing to scratch
much too itchy to ignore

buzzing mosquitos
partial to my fast-food face
fly in for a bite...
landing ever so lightly
risking the chance of a slap

blackfly bites become
so incredibly itchy
my nails get worn down...
scratching bumps until they bleed
it is driving me crazy

Buzzing above me
Whizzing through shadowy flight
Stabbing fangs in skin
Causing welts and itchy bites
Festering plots slay these pests
