Love potion no. 9

I dived into a cauldron of magic potion
And thought I would never survive
But here I am to tell the tale
Of how I’m still alive
I saw a chance and dived right in
I didn’t do my diligence
But soon found out it’s sink or swim
I should have used my commonsense
I tried to swim against the tide
But the effort was all mine
She didn’t even try to hide
Her scorn for potion number nine
Our potion turned out to be
A blending of the poison kind
I’m so lucky to be free
Her body they’ll never find.

The Wilderness Within

I walked out of a home, a cage, safety and routine,
And ventured into the wild, where beasts roam free.
The dangers were plenty around me, but so was the thrill,
And I knew in my bones, this is where I belong still.

I wandered through the forest, and climbed the rugged hills,
I faced my fears, bears, and tigers head on,
My heart gave a chill.
But as I braved the storms, and outsmarted the beasts,
I found my own home, my own place of peace.

In the wild, I learned what I'm truly made of,
And I know now, I'll survive no matter how tough.

I'll walk through the fire, and I'll swim against the tide,
I'll fight for my life, with all my might and pride.

For it's only in the wild, where we truly come alive,
And build our own home, and learn to thrive.

So I'll keep wandering, till the end of my days,
For in the wild, my soul always ablaze.

And if you ever see me, out there in the wild,
Don't be afraid, for I too was once a small, scared, child.
I’m son of the earth, of the fire, of the wind and the rain,
Just living my life, and feeling alive again.

The One

Fly against the wind,,
Swim against the tide..

You Cannot Hide It

It is in the air
It is in the eyes
Your heart betraying
Your voice trembling
Your poise like a baby
The fight you can't win

Don't try to hide it
Don't try to fight it
Like water just too powerful
When high the flow too violent
And you cannot swim against the tide
Rather it dictates your way

Don't hide it
It can't be masked
The pain in the eyes
The rapid beat of the heart
Silly behaviours shown
The heart's warmth radiating

Premium Member Is the Moon Male, Female Or Both

The purpose of gender is balance and procreation.
One moon is enough for us.
Our precious moon
Has a differing purpose.

The moon reflects the sunlight
During late, dark nights.
It ensures we never find
Ourselves without light.

The moon is known as
The faithful witness in the skies.
Some mention the man in the moon.
This comes as no surprise...

His logic in the way he moves the sea;
When we stargaze, we see his face.
We imagine him whistling lullabies
While smiling down at the human race.

Others may call her female
As she glitters, shimmers and shines.
She is our ultimate gemstone.
Her beauty is sublime!

However, I have to admit,
I'm one to swim against the tide.
The moon is neither gender.
It has no masculine or feminine side.

Premium Member Tomorrow

I want to swim against the tide..
And crawl when I should run.
I want to leap off the tallest mountain..
And soar into the sun.

I want to be blinded by the darkness..
And feel the warmth in your stare.
I want to feel the shiver of morning..
And the stillness in the air.

I want to feel your regrets..
When you turn and walk away.
And know that in your heart..
You really wanted to stay.

To feel the innocence of your smile..
And the sincerity of your sorrow.
If only time could stand still..
I would steal another tomorrow.

Waves

Waves

Underwater, the chains, tying me to the world, break,
In the rippling waves, my shivering body does quake.

Underwater, my body as weightless as a ghost lies,
Where all sound is muted, where salt stings my eyes.

Peace engulfs me in waves, as power drains my thighs,
I swim against the tide, further from the world I despise.

In my chest a fire rises, as my lungs screamed for air,
Underwater, I near a new life, above all are unaware.

Pain consumes my body, regret fills my mind,
My frantic arm movements, are they waves? Are they blind?

Tumbling like the waves, the seconds in the sea,
My unbreakable heart stops, then swims free.

To die, isolated, all alone in pain!
I am not the first, nor the last, in vain!

Lesson

And so ends the lesson
As I go to the top of the class
For each time I fall over
I get up again and again
They say it’s the way of the world
But it seems some are able to coast
Whilst others swim against the tide
Do you make the choice
Or is the choice made for you.

Premium Member My Pen

My Pen.

Blue ink spilt on paper
From the pen with witch I write
Words flow from my heart and souls
Golden light
Words of love words of sorrow
About the past
And tomorrow
At times
Words of rage
My pen a weapon
For injustice cruelty and needless war
Empathy for the down trodden
The homeless and the poor
Written with blood
She’d for truth justice and good
My thoughts feelings and emotions
Deeper than the deepest ocean
I give my heart and soul
With every cell and fibre of my being
To express the things I’ve been through
And the things around me
I have seen
A legacy to all who care to read
Long after I’ve gone to seed
Some people might not like my words
As I often swim against the tide
For what Truly believe in
And Gods laws I try to abide
Good or bad happy funny or sad
writing is my mistress
My joy conviction
Pleasure my life
always true to myself#
What ever you think of my words
This is
Me.

Swimming Against the Tide

Sometimes you have to swim against the tide,

at times you have fly in the face of opinion,

sometimes you have to decide which side,

that you are going to take,

there are moments when taking a stand

is the only right thing to do,

even if goes against others plans

in the end that’s just the way it is,

don’t go getting it twisted,

don’t think what you’re doing is wrong,

just because you’re not following the other fishes,

swimming in life’s pond,

sometimes you have be unique,

sometimes you need to show your individuality

on occasions you have no choice,

you have to make your voice heard

in the end that’s just the way it is,

so don’t go getting it twisted,

don’t think what you’re doing is wrong,

just because you’re not following the other fishes

swimming in life’s pond.

In Depth

Whatever happened to in depth analysis?
Whatever happened to in depth discussion?
Whatever happened to in depth research?
Whatever happened to in depth investigation?

Are we doomed to a life in the shallows for millennia to come?
Are we doomed to a life inside, with our blinds drawn?
Are we doomed to a life with no more full-length movies?
Are we doomed to a life without the need to get our feet wet?
Are we doomed to a life that will never be deep?

Have we lost our ability to concentrate?
Have we lost our ability to swim against the tide?
Have we lost our ability to read the full report?
Have we lost our ability to search out the facts?
Have we lost our ability to dig deeper?

Or could it be that our brains have been washed too many times,
Or could it be that we have used too much sanitizing lotion,
Or could it be that the virtual world now holds more sway,
Or could it be that we are too busy taking selfies to notice,
Or could it be that we are losing all our in depth reporters.

No Suffering, No Success

N-o suffering, no success,
I-t's a swim against the tide;
K-ind clime after the storm
K-ills the fear deep
I-nside.

T-wenty-first October morn
A-llows your life to succeed;
H-aving conquered the waves,
U-sing the faith that you need.
N-o pain no gain it's true,
E-very ache turns to gladness;
S-urrender not to hardship, no suffering, no success.

Forever Wet

If no man is an island,
  what can one man be

If no man stands alone,
to write the words, himself to free

If never beats that distant drum,
  one marching out of step

Who will swim against the tide,
 —their ink forever wet

Futile Leaders

In crisis we swim
Hunger for education has made us slim
The beauty of dye was washed by rain
From ignorance to ignored we leave by cain
Solidarity of the heart some withstand the pain

Minors relishing nothing from national cake
Yet,stroked to make the the cake bake
D realm of hardship By heart, bounty forsake

Indeed, Man can't swim against the tide
Needn't man run from d defamation of life guide?
We just have to go with the flow
Or take a sudden blow
For breath in this region is not for the slow

Quenching thirst with hazardous liquids
Where idle divine water is seeking employment
Zeal for success has kicked the bucket
Murderers! Daggering dreams of d young
Resulting to the Death of sale in a 'village' market

Holders of democratic wand!!
The land remains dry while u fill ur bellies

Remember! Thy breath shall cease indefinitly
And thy soul shall evaporate to be *JAMBED*
And body shall sleep undignified

Poetry Blues

What is it that compels us to
forego
what is.
The known.
Fact,
proven or held true by the
many.
Excuse ourselves from family
and friends.
Step into a moving river
Swim against the tide
And try
To alter the current,
Refract the shadow
Refine the flow,
with words
that really define us.
