he is coming the birds twitted and tweeted throughout the meadow that day
their excitement was felt in the wind, trees, and grasses, every which way
although not in the loop, I felt an arrival of importance was imminent
royal cardinal flew in and landed on an oak that was a robin’s tenement
the faeries and brownies flew up to a high branch to listen and learn
What the cardinal was saying, I truly could not understand or discern
but he was regally dressed with a steampunk hat complete with plume
he had the attention of every bird and fey before he had to zoom
inhale, the lovesick
bursting sunshine rain
every moment beats
ceaseless warm feeling
acoustic years passed
like ascending vines
yet fainted hued shadow
peers through ripen binds
inhale, redefines
flourish aloft through
as time sweeps away
to first dawning light
and gasp a sound waft

Lit up balls sparkling bright
Hanging like a big bright light
Over a dance floor like a stage
People dancing a new craze
Disco is catching on fast
I wonder if it's gonna last
One arm staying by your side
The others swinging way up high
Up and down as you shake
Your bottom half like a quake
It was soon brought into life
As John Travolta stayed alive
Making disco really known
It's popularity has grown
Like a lot of fads have done
But this one was really fun
Everyone's booty was grooving
There was always someone moving
To this new sound that's outrageous
Dancers would become contagious
With the beat loud and blasting
As a disco ball was casting
Circles of love and romance
That went smoothly with a dance
Lit up balls sparkling bright
Hanging like a big bright light
Over a dance floor like a stage
People dancing a new craze
Disco is catching on fast
I wonder if it's gonna last
One arm staying by your side
The others swinging way up high
Up and down as you shake
Your bottom half like a quake
It was soon brought into life
As John Travolta stayed alive
Making disco really known
It's popularity has grown

But this one was really fun

Howling artic gusts
frighten birds on snow clad trees
frozen wings swept off
Winter sun burns ice
storm force gales melt and mellow
creatures free to roam
Window frames rattle
wooden huts quake in harsh climes
homely folks cluster
Reindeer sleigh dots sky
children’s starry-eyed rapt gleam
carols thaw iced fog
Weaving the literary loom
Words marry, blends warp and weft;
Fell in love a splendid groom
Soon his death leaves her bereft,
In haste writes of worldly broom.
She wrote of flame on chilly nights
Old men reliving the war;
Victims all of infinite fights
Witness the scars on faces they wore
How they jest to shroud phobic plights.
Life began a thread from the womb
Now her misdeed that of old?
She sits in her lonely room
Case of dementia, we are told
A silhouette of life’s long bloom.

on a windswept broom
~ leaves on rakes
Covid madness sweeps through the world
General Corona
unleashes his army
the invisible army
upon the world
killing millions
in its wake
spreading chaos and death
as he rides in
on the black horse of death
harbinger of the end of days
destroyer of worlds
ending of the world
revelations come to life

The panorama's immensity
Twilight's intensity
Profoundly felt, heart-pounding shivers
On the shores of desert rivers
Of sweeps of sand, stretching endless
On darkling surface friendless
Canteen emptied, my last companion
Buried deep in this lost canyon
Lit up balls sparkling bright
Hanging like a big bright light
Over a dance floor like a stage
People dancing a new craze
Disco is catching on fast
I wonder if it's gonna last

Your breath sweeps on my neck as I sigh in relief.
Your eyes show the moon as you look at me.
I find peace each time you take me in your arms.
I see the sunshine in your smile each morning with you lying next to me.
We are the stars, the moon and the sun, as we entwine together.
The sound of your heart beat in my ears is a sweet melody.
May we never feel the pain of the song of the whippoorwill?
Seeing the light shining in the mist of the morning; you sigh with sweet delight.
In the darkness; sweet love is made.
As your breath sweeps on my neck, as I sigh in relief.
You breathe a sigh of happiness for the love that has been there for so long.
It has been the eternal time machine taking you from one place to another.
The words and feelings of long ago, relived in one night on the phone.
Staying in the time of now, will be the challenge.
With the strength of the love over several decades, time can only tell.
The length of time has shown us how much the sigh of love becomes a sweet song to be sung.
Swish swanky subtle, perception intended (not)
happens so that some folk go on nil, to arrive at a lot!
