Sweeps of Sand

The panorama's immensity
   Twilight's intensity
Profoundly felt, heart-pounding shivers
On the shores of desert rivers

Of sweeps of sand, stretching endless
   On darkling surface friendless
Canteen emptied, my last companion
Buried deep in this lost canyon

Eerily accurate I imagine when a person is lost in the wilds of a desert canyon, running out of water.

Yeah, nothing much worse than dying of thirst in the desert. Thanks, Caren

Truth be told, I think this poem reveals that a tiny bit of your talent for penning haunting verse has penetrated my Muse. Thank you for that gift, as well as for your support.
