The Ghost Soldier

As the battalion races into battle
You can hear a Saber rattle
But as we charge with guns a blazing loud
He can be seen, leading the crowd
A Ghost on horseback brilliant white
In his suit of armor a scary sight
No one can believe their eyes it seems
He should only be seen in blood curdling dreams
But to us he is as real, as we are
Like us has traveled very far
Not in miles, but in time
Like a hero in a nursery rhyme
As we charge on and vanquish our foe
A thousand soldiers all in a row
He leads by example from the front
The cannon fire, he bears the brunt
Can the enemy see him we all think?
Or is it only us, and a curse of the drink
Imaginary or real boldly we wonder
We frightened soldiers in a politicians blunder
As the battle rages, he disappears as quickly as he came
And none of us even knew his name

Premium Member Released Through Pen and Ink

Sheets of blank paper had yellowed with age
I wielded a pen, but no ink was spilled by my hand,
Memories were left unwritten on every page,
though as many as a beach holds grains of sand

I gave in to my Muse and scrawled line after line
thoughts drawn from my soul, buried fathoms deep
Were all of those sad recollections really mine?
They were flowing as freely as the tears I weep

Reflections of my past in sunlight and ebony night,
refusing to remain entombed, fled from their prison
Strokes from darkness were escaping their plight
Released by my pen, from their sepulcher had risen

There is battle brandishing power in the pen I wield
A weapon I've found useful in place of a silent tongue
It cannot protect me as though suit of armor or shield,
Emotions shouldn't be confined; they should be sung

I feel therefore I must

“I think therefore I am."
This quote was the difference between flesh and steel,
but was is past tense.
Now steel can think, imagine, filter, move.
The capabilities of steel are only what we allow it to have.
The quote ‘I think therefore I am’
is too simple for philosophy anymore, but no shame on the originator,
as this quote was created during a time where a moving empty suit of armor was more likely to be a ghost than a simple human mechanism.

‘I think therefore I am’ isn’t invalid; it is just misinterpreted today.

‘I feel, therefore I must.’
This quote will now and forever be the difference between flesh and steel for one simple reason:
when you turn off a machine, it will feel nothing.
When you kill a human, it will beg for its life.
this difference isn't about humanity, but its that machine has a choice to be able to show its emotions, but humans don't.

In the Glory

In an ugly spurious narcissistic unworthy world I will remain just your authentic bonafide realistic all American down to earth girl next door sitting on her
genuine pedestal of living values wearing my suit of armor, high heals, matching lipstick and crown of victory to protect myself from the wrath that people choose so selfishly to express.
I will remain humble and kind while taking in the glory of surviving in this unworthy world

Premium Member Armor

Purposefully put together
Piled up piece by piece
Donning my suit of armor
Thought it provided peace

Polished exterior portrayed
That I had it all figured out
Buttoned up from head to toe
Yeah that’s what I’m about

Pay a price to put on a show
As the projecting takes a toll
Time to lay down my shield
To start tuning into my soul

Looking inward can reveal
Kinks in the armor are alright
Using them to our advantage
Since they let in the light

Illuminating what was hidden
Revealing spots that were blind
Done with depicting an image
Choosing to live life by design

Seeing through clear eyes now
Guiding me to let down my guard
Defenses have been dismantled
My heart no longer behind bars

Premium Member Jambers Notorious Flea Shop

Where did you get a stuffed albino squirrel?
I say this after giving it a tug and a whirl.
After oohing and ahhing over it, we all yell
And I mean down deep from the bowls of hell…

“Jambers!” loud and proud simultaneously.
We have all been there since our mothers’ knee.
Jambers is the most notorious flea shop in New York.
We spend money there fast enough to stuff porky pork.

Once I found a full-grown suit of armor I had to have.
I rented a truck and brought it to my house along with a calve.
The calve would have been a calf, but it had lost a leg.
I also brought home Blackbeard with a leg that was a peg.

If it is not to be found at Jambers, it is not to be had.
I learned this from my mother, father, and great granddad.
Jambers is the ultimate junk store, known by designers and the king.
If you cannot find anything at Jambers, you do not need anything.

Premium Member What Is a Flea Market

What is a flea market? I asked, unsure.
I found all kinds of things not found in the mall.
Antiques that brought memories back
Things I have never seen anywhere else
Things I knew I would never see or find anywhere else again
Home made things from creative people
Shiny things, feathery things, things of leather.
I was overjoyed when I discovered you can lug stuff to a cashier.
She will make you a pile and give you a number.
My number should have been JACKPOT
My pile was huge.
\My sister was askance.
My car is not big enough for all that, she told me.
Not to worry, I replied as they lugged a ten foot suit of armor to the register.
I have had to rent a truck to bring that guy home.

Before I write a single word,
I will put on my suit of armor.

So that you wont see what's hiding,
way down deep inside of me.

Anyway,
I have so much to say.

But you're not here,
and you're so confident that I wont care.

All I have left to be,
are pieces of me on the floor.

I have so many flat words,
that have never found worth.

All these pieces left of me,
I pray they fill the hole in your heart.

Your love has been a dry well,
That could never quench my thirst.

Though time goes by,
I will always be with you.

Little sips of others,
Little drips of me.

Just one tiny drink from your well,
Then I'd be so satisfied.

My insatiable thirst,
It will be left behind, when I die.

All my words that are left unsaid,
They will never find you.

I will always be,
looking for drips to fill me.

The Great Luminous Pearl

The knighthood of youth stands tall,
in his phantom suit of armor.
A wooden sword in earnest,
both the warrior and farmer.
He sees life in the bright day,
a mission simple and so plain.
Like a, "double O seven",
a sword umbrella for the rain.
Always there a gentleman,
ready to pedestal the girl.
For the shining of the night,
is the great luminous pearl.

Warped Self

Look into the mirror
What do you see
A false suit of armor
That doesn’t let you free
Of its heaviness
The false part of you,
The part that brings unhappiness
Makes you want to do
Things others wouldn’t approve
Because what you see in front
Is not you, and you can prove
This is true, if you show your mind’s haunt
The person in the mirror is not me
The person I’m inside in not reflected in reality

A strong Knight,
     with sword in hand;
          stands smug
                in his shiny
                     suit of armor fit
                         for a Lord
                              or King.
A surly
     highborn,
         sworn by oath
                to uphold
                     laws of chivalry
                         with honor and valor,
                              for
both church and country!

Premium Member The Big Why

why is there something
rather than nothing
because that's existence
reflected in your mind

the nature of the beast
an existence conundrum
a question-suit of armor
to hide from plain sight

that not-of-reflection
but of the mirror
that it remain
untainted

Premium Member God Looked and Saw

God looked and saw evil looming on the horizon—
so much evil and no sign of Justice.
He couldn’t believe what he saw,
not a soul around to correct this awful situation.
So he did it Himself, took on the work of Salvation,
fueled by His own Righteousness and Justice.
He dressed in Righteousness, put it on like a Suit of Armor,
with Salvation on His head like a Helmet,
Put on Justice like an overcoat,
and threw a Cloak of PASSION across His shoulders.
He’ll make everyone pay for what they’ve done,
fury for his foes just deserts for His enemies.
Even the far-off islands will get paid off in full.
In the East and West, they’ll fear the name of God,
in the North and South, they’ll fear the glory of God,
He’ll arrive like a river in a flooded stage,
whipped to a torrent by the wind of His mighty Power.
“I’ll arrive in Zion as Redeemer,
to those who are willing to leave their sins behind.”
God’s Decree, His Righteousness and Justice prevailed.

TOO LATE

If you do not include yourself as a sinner redeemed
even if you look to the law and break them all

or even one. If you do not look upon the son
as the one who saves your soul from the second death.

If you wiggle and squirm shouting agendas until your blue
in the face, armed with a suit of armor and a tie.

If you buy into the mob’s mentality of immorality,
keep your birthday suit loose and ready to wear.

If you pinch your fellow man until he’s black and blue,
unrelenting from the uterus to Timbuktu.

If you can look in the mirror with a polished sneer
and see something good in your pufferfish looks.

Don’t worry (pat on head) Hush (stroke on back)
although when you close your eyes of lead

the prison bars that divide you from the light
with brazen clarity, might cause enlightenment

too late…
