He waits

just outside beyond my door
I know that he is standing there
and reminders I do not need
of that which he will bring

and I will turn avert my eyes
and stop up my listening ears
and my thought to other things turn
so that they will not me remind

and I do wonder how that they
seek out all that they can learn
study of his many ways
and of the fascination they do find

for I do wish that I could forget
and even that I had never learned
how each day would now be filled
of all the things the wait without

and inside where I do hide
I do wonder of their joy
how the seek of all the things
that from which I run away

and they call invite me in
that with them I might share
of all the joy that it does bring
not knowing why I turned away

yet I know I cannot forget
that someday he’ll enter in
and no more may I hide
from the one who waits outside

Premium Member Chaos

The children cry for the lack
Of food, shelter, and medicine,
And the sky weeps great tears,
And the ground splits open.
The oceans foam and roar,
And the trees splinter and crack
While lawmakers slash funding
For the least of these, the poor.
Jesus said, “Suffer the little
Children to come unto me”,
But the powerful avert their eyes.
We storm the citadels of the
Mighty, and they hear us not.
Their hearts are as stone.
They stop up their ears.
They use false logic and lies
To excuse their selfish actions
While the earth shudders and breaks,
While families go hungry
Or have no heat, or suffer
From ills that could be cured.
Health care for all is anathema.
“Food stamps make people lazy,”
They say, ignoring the reality,
Economics, and the truth.
The whole universe cries out,
Where is the caring, the kindness,
The love for fellow humans?
Christians? I think not.
Religious in any way? I think not.
Selfish? Biased? Closed minded?
Certainly all of the above.
They sit on their mountaintops
And watch the chaos below
While God’s children weep.

Your Eyes

If a man is coupled with a woman who's eyes are so beautiful that upon seeing them his heart is gladdened even after the saddest moment, then is he to bid her by his side and hide her from all the world so that others never share of those eyes?

Shall we hide the stars from the night sky?

Shall we stop the tides rising to the moon?

Shall we turn away from a child’s smile?

Shall we stop-up people ears from an old woman’s wisdom?

You and your eyes are only best appreciated when shared by others.

That is my promise and it is my wish.

Blaring Noise

blaring music everywhere
noise all around and sideways
even blue venusians
stop up their ears and pray
to the gods for lullabies

I Love You

I realize a pinch in my heart
As our love fall apart.
Smile on my face refuse to show up
continuous tears stop to stop up
words pass through my ears without being heard
images seem only blurred
lips move in futile prayers
nose seem devoid of air
past flash in the present once again
hopes stir in the mind along with pain
tearful eyes as try to sleep
nightmares follow in giant heaps.
And so, with every new effort to forget you,
I love you all the more, I love you…

Bus Ride

I glance at my watch,
Shake my head at the hands,
And count silver cars
While I patiently stand.
Three minutes, Five minutes,
Ten minutes late.
Time ticks away,
And still I must wait.

Traffic flows by
Like an ocean of steel,
Pausing at times -
Liquid automobiles.
I laugh to myself:
Who would have presumed?
Environmentalists
Forced to inhale the fumes!

It comes into view:
The great whale of this sea.
It sprays its exhaust -
Remorseless, it seems.
An eager step forth -
But its presence misleads.
My sigh is a cloud.
"Out of service," it reads.

Minutes tick by,
Till its cousin arrives
And opens its doors
To admit our grim line.
We pack ourselves in,
Like sardines in a can.
No free seat in sight -
So we awkwardly stand.

By the time I can see
My stop up ahead,
I'm an hour behind
And my feet feel like lead.
I push my way off,
As if freed from a jail.
Now I know Ahab's pain -
To be wronged by a whale.

One Red Light

You kiss me at the door
Your eyes say good bye
As I walk away
Before the morning light
A long drive a head
One light
And it’s red
Just a turn and a stop up the road
Take me to
My other home
Live stock gets fed
As I amble through my day
Doing the things that I do
Finding ways to keep entertained
Till its over
And I head back to you
Take me to
My other home
Just a stop and a turn up the road
One light
And it’s red
A long drive a head
Two masters can test a mans soul
Family, love, earth, mud
Can top a bottomless pit
A welcome sight
The bright porch light
And inside your eyes wait for me.
Knowing tomorrow again
The day will start with a kiss
As I walk away
From your adoring light

There'Ll Come a Time

There’ll come a time,
When the wind will stop blowing,
And the road will stop up ahead.

A day the birds will no longer chirp,
And the sun will no longer shine.

And when the day arrives,
That the divine clock stops ticking,
...I will finally see you.

Fade Away

Quickly fade away,
slip between all the cracks they have
tried to stop up
slip down below where no one can touch you.
Unravel, unwind, fray
at the seams of your soul,
quick set free from skin
past the boundary of
physical.
Enter air and atom,
surrender to dark desire,
he calls below.
"Come down, come down!"
but what they do not realize,
you are nowhere above them.
Slip through fiber and skin
fall apart,
no one is looking
no one will notice
no one will see.
Quickly fade away
slip out and
exhale slow
exhale yourself from this cage
of body and mind
deny the heart
stop the lungs
numb the touch
blind the eyes
mute the tongue
deafen the ears.
Fade out of this place
into the steady rhythm of a
flat-line__________
