Stirred Up Poems

Premium Memberthe spoon is the wise one

the fork thought the knife and spoon were against her
A conspiracy was in the works, their mission impure
She used her ring finger and accused them of a conspiracy
The spoon pointedly ignored her and stirred up his green tea

The knife was not as wise as the spoon and argued most of the day
It seemed to give them satisfaction said the spoon named Gray.
They are used to arguing, it is their way to be romantic he thought.
He had heard his parents scraping and hissing since he was a tot.

Premium MemberBoiling Vegetables

Vegetables boiled in an angry froth.
Stirred up, they were, in a savory broth.
"Give me liberty or death", they said,
as they were joined by a cabbage head.

Premium MemberSpeedo Racer

Was by the pool, sporting a Speedo

Cursed with overactive libido

I did all that I could

Now, I'm just sporting wood

The damned thing looked like a torpedo

So I used my towel, trying to hide

But still, it wouldn't swallow my pride

The shadow from my shaft

Was creating a draft

And it stirred up a crowd a mile wide

The line stretched from here to the border

Trump signed an Executive Order

News choppers filled the air

Bigfoot could only stare

Cher begged, but I couldn't afford her

Sea

Clear at the edges, I can see every ripple of sand on the bed of the ocean as I swim.
Towards the centre of the beach the sea becomes opaque,
The sand churned up by the waves and the greater depth obscuring the bottom.
Then, as I reach the far end of the bay it becomes clear again:
Small shifts in the miniature dunes beneath
With each gentle wave
Flurries of sand, stirred up then settle down again
Tiny fish the colour of the sea bed, zip along the bottom
Zig-zagging in groups of two or three
Visible only because of their small black eyes

I raise my head and see the small cape rise above me
The rocks the same colour as the sand beneath
And the same colour as my skin
The deep dark greenery covering much of the face of the rock
Lush and impenetrable, to me at least
Though I know that snakes and ground birds and insects thrive there

To be surrounded by this much joy and life
To feel permeate my being.

Premium MemberA Special Birthday

“The darkened sky stole my tears,”
 as morning sunshine disappears.
 Today's her birthday- ninety years
 and rainy weather interferes.

She loves the outdoors- wild frontiers.
 In early times, with pioneers,
she traveled far with two careers.
But now, those days are souvenirs.

She has two friends- each one adheres
to lifestyles spent in outdoor spheres.
And now I pray, as fun time nears,
the sun will shine as the sky clears.

The darkened sky stirred up my fears-
I now see sunlight in arrears!
The sound of voices fills my ears-
as she arrives, all clap with cheers!

Premium MemberA Perfect Night

I watch a star twinkle in the dark midnight sky;
a shooting star stirred up a spirited sigh.
The full moon shines its brilliant warm glow,
soft breath whispers love in rhythmical flow.

Shimmering reflections from the light of a moonbeam
stirs tranquility and romance into this dream.
Arms slide to embrace and caress you with yearning;
my passion is rising, emotions aflame, my body burning.

I lay you down gently, and in my strong arms we find
my dreams coming true as My Queen has been crowned.
Tonight for us will be a stunningly bright beginning.
Moonlight magic, love's serenade, will keep us singing.

rich man's blue

Rich man’s blue

A problem when a person meets someone
seriously, they lose their logical sense when
the rich person speaks to them or smile
They are ready to agree that the person says
is the truth, if we accept what he says
He makes mundane of going to Mars
we know his timeline is wrong
but what the heck, he foots the bill
I think of Elon Musk, who has become
the new Shreck role Putin had
But it didn’t sit well as old Putin looked cultural
Wear a nice tie and is a dog lover
His foray into German politics is brave and timely
the AfD can lift Germany out of the hole
she is in now and is making Germany strong again
As for his intemperate opinions about the UK
one can say they stirred up the reaction that
one thinks the British public was in favor of
if not the political leadership in that country.
We can ignore Elon Musj when he tramples
on our precious dignity
like the Vatican, he has no army divisions.

Goaded, ego gloats in air

Stoked and stirred up, fire flares,
If provoked, cobra scares,
Hurt by loss of glory,
Startled, beasts show fury,
Goaded, ego gloats in thin airs.
_______________
Translation |11.01.2025| ego, self, fire, snake/cobra

Poet’s note: Sanskrit has thousands of verses of wisdom called Subhashhitam. Ego identifies with (lower) self--man, bird or beast. If hurt, it reacts. When stoked fire flares. If provoked, cobra tries to scare. So does human ego. The transliteration of the Sanskrit verse follows:

Jvalati chalite indhana agnih,
vi-prakrtah pannagah phanaam kurute |
Praayah sve mahimaanam kshobhaat
prati-padyanta jantavah || 218 ||

Premium MemberYo Ho Ho Lets Let Judy be Captain

Judy’s catchy enthusiasm galvanized our pirate crew
so we set sail down the seven seas, ocean blue
yo-ho-ho- we sang loudly, merry and gay
other fearsome pirate ships moved out of our way

excitement permeated our mission, our spirits high
we kissed all our hardships, doubts and do nots goodbye
stirred up, we were filled with crazy amounts of joy and glee
ready to be as evil and mean as Simon La Gree

We are going to make our enemies walk the plank we sang
giving exuberant cheers, our enthusiasm as loud as a bang
we snarled and grouched, and fought over who would be chief
arguing all the way to the largest West Indies big reef

she had set our hearts afire, giving us confidence galore
We were still arguing about it, when we reached a sandy shore
in a very short time, our Judy was elected captain by a vote
I could not argue about it in this island, remote

A New Place to Live

He told her come on baby,
let’s pack up and leave this town.
Cause living here just makes me,
feel like I’m gonna drown.

We will find that perfect place,
somewhere we can settle down.
I give you my word baby,
we will quit roaming around.

So they left that little town,
from way back up in the sticks.
Headed to those city lights,
where they’d learn some brand-new tricks.

A couple country bumpkins,
nothing more than simple hicks.
Soon got lost in the shuffle,
and all stirred up in the mix.

But as the days rolled on by,
their hearts soon turned into stone.
Though they still had each other
they might as well been alone.

When those Neon signs go out,
city lights no longer call.
All your pockets are empty,
the love you had starts to stall.

Living in the dark alleys,
where daylight is never known.
The needle, just like a knife,
still can cut you to the bone.

We try to make the right choice,
doing our best to succeed.
It’s hard to find the right path,
around all the lies and greed.

When you’re lost and full of hate,
down is the only place left.
Til despair convinces you,
that the best way out is death.

The pot

Life as a whole can be so tragic,
And never will you witness magic,
Emotions change in a blink of an eye,
You start off happy and end with a cry,
Loss of my loved one this emotion was new,
Like it's tipped in a pot stirred up like a stew,
Then it's poured in a bowl picked up with a spoon,
It's what you would taste,
The worst you'd assume,
The more that you take,
And the bigger the portions,
From the pot that now feeds you,
The new mix of Emotions.

Premium MemberPRAISE BE TO GOD WHO PUTS WISDOM IN OUR HEARTS

April 15 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on 1Kings 10-11

Key Verse – 1Kings 10:24 And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

PRAISE BE TO GOD WHO PUTS WISDOM IN OUR HEARTS

Praise be to God for putting wisdom in our hearts while we hear His:
Truth of compassion for our salvation
Triumphant calling for servanthood
Tremendous cleansing for our sanctification
Testimony that cheers our stewardship
Trustworthy correction for our steadfastness

1Kings 11:9 Praise be to the Lord Who warns us not
to turn our hearts from Him:
Stirred up by adversary
Stricken with angry angst
Sought through arrogance
Saturated by abomination
Satisfied along arguments

1Kings 11:10 Praise be to the Saviour for enabling us to stay in His will
and to keep His commandments by our:
Faith in His Word
Fervency for His work
Fulfillment toward His ways
Faithfulness in worthy worship
Fellowship around His workmanship. Amen!

Whirling In Love

There was a big giant burst
In my heart it was the first
Time it really stirred up feelings
That sent me into a reeling
Spin of emotions that won't stop
I've been twirling like a top
Whirling all around near you
Round and round, what do I do
Spun into a love that I
Can not fight, I wont deny
I like the dizziness you cause
Keep me spinning, do not pause
Any of the love you give
Every moment we both live
Will be a topsy turvy one
Full of happy crazy fun

Don't be afraid of

On a hot and windless night
I lay in bed quietly with a bit sad
Looking back on the journey
A shadow appears bashfully on the catwalk
As shy as debtors for a grace time hide
I feel odd suddenly about that
It happens for no known reason
...

Or like a criminal carries a shackle
Escorting a soul of exile
The self-torture of
Suffocating in the dust
Being stirred up by passers...

Fairly, it represents nothing
In a world shared less or more
If equalizing goodwill with goodwill
And evil with evil...

Say it loudly, I'm truly worthy of
Standing between earth and heaven
And facing by person to person...

Not much time will be left
For flying Spiritual whiskers in the wind
And singing virtually among the mountains ...
