Solstice and Equinox Beauty

 

Cloudless skies endless,
gardens blooming in colors,
summer solstice warm_
Love a picnic in the shade,
and lazy long forest walks !

Until trees let go,
of their lovely decayed leaves,
to dance, fly and prance_
I love collecting those leaves,
in the autumn's equinox !

Then, comes biting winds,
and lacy snowflakes falling,
winter solstice ice_
Cold walks with fireplaces to warm,
'till  spring equinox divine

A Christmas Wish

May your annual commemoration
of the winter solstice
with one of the Earth's poles
at its maximum tilt from the sun
be abundant with innumerable manifestations
of felicity friends good food and fun
and may the next full circuit
of the ecliptic engender
a propensity toward
bestowing plenteousness too
and may unparalleled prosperity
be forthcoming
and settle like snowflakes
gently upon you

Friday, June twentieth
at 10:42 Post Meridian
Eastern standard time
will find Earth's North Pole tilted
closest toward sun. 

This demarcates
most daylight hours of the year 
for people living 
within the northern hemisphere.

Just shy of the supposed bewitching hour 
(more than twelve hours 
from drafting these lines)
nearest star in solar system reaches
highest point in the sky.

Hence hasty

The Coolness of Winter

While hearths glow warm with ember’s light,  
I dance beneath the pale moon’s gleam,  
Where frosted breath curls in the night,  
And ice-bound dreams take flight unseen.  

The wind, a whispered song so bold,  
It sings of stars in frozen streams,  
Of silver landscapes, fierce and cold,  
A

monarchs sail plashless
while her shards of deceit pierce
my aorta, ripe

The winter solstice
Is as big as the year
A small reunion
May you have 
The warmest love
On the longest night
The days after this
Are like cold light
Meets the sun
Bright and bright.

In the deepest woods

Woodland grove

An electric emotion

An invited guest

Winter Solstice

Winter Is here,
Fear washed away my sorrow with desperation and opportunism,
Now I wait for winter,
For I will meet the woman of my dreams in winter,
Torrid freezing,
Will throw her into my arms,
Winter is here,
Fear washed away my manhood with white supremacy,
I’m dreaming of a white woman,
To wash away all of my sorrow,
I am desperate and opportunistic,

Winter Solstice and Musings On The Entropy of Love

Unable to sleep or pray, I stand  
by the window looking out—  
at moonstruck trees a December storm  
has bowed with ice.

White Oaks and Maples concede  
beneath the crystalline weight,  
their branches falling brittle upon  
a frozen tableau of memory.

Love—that old revolutionary road,  
veers sideways toward scrutiny; 

Rising Moon

Radiant crystals illuminate thee, nocturnal mistress
in the wan dawn light where darkness drapes skies
Requiem aeternam bright halo, lies heaven’s portal 
Winters wispy cirrus refracting ring circling 
Mohawkin bespeaks of a Christmas cold moon

shortest day and longest night...
silent trees gather forces
for returning light

lighter, longer, brighter days
saunter through the winter gloom...
light triumphs over darkness
renewal awaits

Solstice Full Moon

Have you ever seen the brightest summer full moon so soon
In the half-overcast sunset long after a fine afternoon.
Shifting cloudy sky darkens as I walk home with my boon.

Winter Solstice Lament

I am sunk deep
in the dark of this day,
peer out of a hollow
that holds the tribe's history
drawn in ochre on a rock wall.

Outside is a numb, frozen world
that yields little food. Animals
are scarce and I am kept alive
by stealth and making most
of the meager offerings that
fall to my spear.

I hate being here,
imprisoned in a poem,

Winter is snow falling on hills.
  Winter is reservoir refills.

Winter is when animals hibernate.
  Winter is when people by the fire wait.

Winter is when temperature drops.
  Winter is when everything stops.

Winter is when harsh winds do blow.
