The
smallest particle
said not to be a
particle
is already This~
particles and waves
simultaneously weave
appearing and not
in a quantum dance~
another ordinary
dance as This~~
May we be blessed to understand how truly blessed we are
from the moment our life starts…
that even the smallest memories
can find a place within our hearts.
The Smallest Life
The smallest life
A life no less
A beating heart and will to live
The smallest voice
Can not call out
Cannot be heard above the crowd
The smallest hand
A final plea
A longing for simplicity
The smallest pain
A pain no less
A feeling of unwelcomeness
The smallest heart
A heart stood still
Falls silent in the evening chill
The smallest love
A love unwon
Now floats toward the setting sun
Oh, how I envy its freedom,
To roam the skies so wide,
To taste the sweetness of life,
With every graceful glide.
The smallest life
In front of me on the narrow track leading into the bushes,
I picked up a tiny field mouse held in the palm of my hand
where it fell asleep.
The tiny life was white and brown had eyes, heart and lungs like me.
What what’s next? I could not stay here all day with outstretched arm
waiting for the mouse to awake
I put it in my pocket when hearing the sheep coming down the track.
When dusty wool had walked past, I put the hand in my pocket
the mouse was not there; one thing to hold a mouse in my hand,
another thing is to have to crawl around my body.
I took my trousers off; I took my shirt off, I stood there naked
as Adam in Paradise, no mouse.
I slowly dressed as butterflies flitted about the woods were enchanting
and I enjoyed my nudity it gave me a sense of freedom.
Hey there, high school teacher,
your talent to rebuff
but when you try imagining
your focus coarse and rough
Your feelings mostly borrowed,
your words ill-gotten gains
your hours spent in false critique
of someone else’s pain
You’re outclassed high-school teacher,
your envy on display
your pedantry a mocking tone
and pretense on parade
(To Wayne Miller: April, 1967)
I Stand
In a field of dandelions and buttercups
I Think
YELLOW
The suns warms me
YELLOW
Brushing against my bare feet
I spy a dandelion who's life is spent
It's only wish is to give yellow to a new life
I pick the fragile stem and hold it high
Blowing softly, smoothly
Light white parachutes flow through the air
The most memorable moments
The smallest moments
Buttercup under chin
YELLOW
"You like butter"
Hectors Dolphins are listed as, endangered
and a sub-species, Maui’s Dolphin are critically endangered
with only about 55 left, in New Zealand’s shallow waters
in the North Island eastern shores, is their home with borders
Hector Dolphins dorsal fin, looks like Mickey Mouse’s ear
and they are the smallest and rarest, of all marine dolphins
Their biggest threat, is being caught up in human fishing gear
and humans polluting, boat striking, developing and seabed mining
Borneo Pygmy Elephants are listed as, endangered
and they were isolated, about 300 thousand years ago
from their cousins, on mainland Asia and Sumatra
and they are known as, the smallest Asian Elephant
They have shrinking forests, with human settlements
and there’s a lot of logging, with a conveyor belt running
There are palm oil plantations, creating a lot of sediment
and a lot of agriculture, destroying their natural environment
IN THE SMALLEST OF US
In the smallest of us
There are GIANTS.
In the least of us
There are NOBLE PRIZE champions.
In the battered souls of us
There are many VICTORIA CROSS winners.

The rabbi had a lot of trouble
Blowing the shofar.*
The congregation waited
But the sounds were just bizarre.
Some strangled bursts of air came out
But music was resistant.
The notes he tried to play, I’d say,
Were pretty non-existent.
He tried three shofars – all were long,
The pride of any ram,
Including those who wandered
In the time of Abraham.
With children gathered at his feet,
The rabbi seemed distraught,
For with his biggest audience,
His efforts came to naught.
But then he grabbed, a last resort,
The smallest shofar yet.
Without a fancy curvy shape,
What music could he get?
He took a breath and we all smiled –
A golden tone emerged,
Outshining all those shofars
On which somebody had splurged.
That little shofar saved the day;
Its sound was strong and clear
And hopefully, it will be first
To have a chance next year.
*a ram’s horn blown on the Jewish holiday
of Rosh Hashanah (the highlight of the service)
What better way to cherish your soul
Take time out
Stop and offer that most precious commodity
To light a candle
Burn some incense
Take a couple of deep breaths
Relax till harmony sets in
Honour that sacredness within
That we so carefully protect
Pause and stretch
Celebrate and rejoice
Grateful for sunshine, clouds or both
Thankful for this precious life
And all its challenges and bounty

Smallest Paw We Ever Saw
Longest arms are possessed by the law;
Trump has smallest paw we ever saw;
Often converted;
Became perverted;
Very difficult if he were to wear a bra.

Why is the sky so much darker
When did the sun start to set
So many shadows are falling my pathway
Hoping my heart can forget
What is the meaning of never
Can I still stand on my own
How could you leave me out here in the darkness
Hiding these fears I have sown
Can you not see I am crying
Pleading with stars in the sky
Calling your name till the heavens are reeling
Seeking the day passing by
Empty my dreams they have fallen
Shattered this earth down below
Collections of feelings stretched long in the mist
Anguish felt ever so slow
Echoes the branches are swaying
Silhouettes pointing at me
Staring upon every sorrow now spoken
Here in this night I can see
If in your heart you find waiting
Even the smallest refrain
Hear of my words for I beg you to listen
I need you, please love me again
