Dear my lovely friends,
Greetings from parts unknown. I hope you are doing well
I bet that you didn’t expect to hear from me after this long
I apologize for that, as that wasn’t my intention
I was going to write you at my first stop, but I forgot
But there was so much for me to learn there and little time
As soon as I finished learning everything I could there, I moved
So it has been a constant trip for me, learning
Somewhere along the road, writing simply slipped my mind
That doesn’t mean I forgot you
As you were the ones keeping me throughout this journey in spirit
Our memories kept me company on the harsh days
But now that I have finally settled in one spot
I decided to write to you about something
After all this time, I have finally found what I’m missing
I can finally tell you that I found my own happiness
I hope you guys can visit me whenever you are available
I miss you all
Were just another mess,
Just another distraction from the actual task at hand,
From the impending doom luring over me,
A fate of my own making
The consequences of my own actions.
I did not think I'd make it this far
To be worrying about such
things,
Especially when I had a hand in trying to make sure I didn't get here.
But I am now
And that's all that matters.
And as I sit on the floor of my half packed dorm avoiding the training for my job, finals, and whatever has slipped my mind,
The velvet green fur of my "treasure" box has me enthralled.
I'm transported back to a simpler time,
Back when I aspired to be a "Professional Jewelry Untangler"
Wonder how the adults could let these
Beautiful
Priceless
pieces get in such disarray
Yeah, I understand it now.
You were my friend way back when
But now I don't know you
We used to sing songs and play games together
But you don't know me, too
Now we don't recognize each other
Time had brought that to an end
It seems to have slipped my mind
What was your name again?
Did I ever tell you
how beautiful you are?
Casually, one morning
(with the bathroom door ajar)
as I said we need more toothpaste,
or I’m off at quarter-to,
did I hold you, as I wanted?
Did I mention it to you?
Did I ever say I need you
like the wheat needs sun and rain?
Did I point out that I’ll never
find a girl like you again?
Did I state that every busy hour
my thoughts to you incline?
It was on my things-to-do list,
and it must have slipped my mind.
I wonder if I thanked you
for being at my side,
or said that when I’m with you,
how I’m all pumped up with pride.
Have I told you I adore you
when you kiss my weary brow?
Forgive me if I didn’t, love.
And so I’m saying it now.
To you
I have loved you since the day we met and for that love I have no regret.
I have loved you from the very start and I love you with all my heart.
I have loved you since I was a boy and loving brings me joy.
I have loved you when I was young and bold. I love you now that I am old.
I love you though I may not say. I love you each and every day.
I have loved while I was overseas and I will love for eternity.
I have loved you through some trying times, when loving you somehow slipped my mind.
I have loved you most of my life and could not imagine you not my wife.
just because you had blue eyes
did it make you crazy
just because you had dark hair
did it make you lazy
because I was friends with your family
and I had gained their respect
did I have that thought in my mind
that someday I could win you back
did I go to any length
did I go to any means
did I profess my love for you
did I tell you there was no one else
did I ever have a real plan
I hoped to get together
me and you going for a ride
me and you stopping on the side
me and you naked and molded
together in love again
did I believe this would happen
or was this just a crazy dream
it must have been in the back of my mind
I had this thought randomly
it never really left my dreams
it just somehow slipped my mind
Tetractys
Oh Dell, what did you do with my poem?
the one I wrote
just last night.
Where is
it?
Duh!
Of course
I saved it;
I always save.
I have looked everywhere; I can't think straight.
Rats! I was so sleepy, it slipped my mind
Hey, what is this...
[Oh Dell, what
did you
do...]
Look,
that's it,
auto saved.
Smart-alec Dell
lets me know what a dunderhead I am.

The Art Of Wondering
Another wonderful discovery. I had it all the time. But I didn’t know it was mine. Maybe
it slipped my mind. You can do it for a moment or for a day.
Doing it to long, can cause harm. I discovered it when I was young. Sometimes I think
it’s dumb.
Wondering can be Wonderful. But one must certainly be mindful, when enough
wondering is truly enough.
Now that I am older, I use caution. I realize to much, could cause one to be mentally
flakey, stagnated and hallucinated. In other words, no action when there was action?
I guess you are wondering, what in the world am I wondering about? Really? Stop
wondering about it. I have… Have a Wonderful Day…
Dr. "G"
I planted bulbs in autumn
And buried them real deep,
Where they remained all winter,
In hibernating sleep.
They slipped my mind completely
As leaves fell from the trees,
And Nature brought her changes,
To varying degrees.
A wave of warmth descended
To usher in the spring,
Erasing winter’s palette,
Replacing it with zing.
And right where I’d been digging,
The result of which I’d doubted,
A burst of yellow let me know
My daffodils had sprouted!
Who knew back in October
When I scooped that rock-filled soil
That I’d reap a splash of color
As the payment for my toil?
Nature is mysterious,
A trickster in disguise.
It’s lovely when our efforts
Are rewarded with a prize.
He turned into a rooster, right there before my eyes
His arms became plump chicken wings, imagine my surprise
His chest puffed out and swelled with pride his back a feathered thatch
His scruffy brogues were cast aside, as he began to scratch.
He started pecking with his nose, his neck shot back and forth
And then he started crowing, with his head adjusted north.
Running round in circles I thought he’d have a fit
and that was why I grabbed him, cause I thought he’d never quit
That was when he started flapping, I thought he’d never stop
To calm him down I used my strength to stuff him in a pot
In my haste to quiet him down It must have slipped my mind
That I’d put some veg and tatties in, soup helps me to unwind
The fire was lit by accident, But how I have no clue
And that was when I realised, My George was in a stew
I’d hoped through chicken farming, a tighter bond we’d forge
and that’s the truth your Honour, why I ate my husband George.
It's on the tip of my tongue. It'll
Come back to me in a minute.
Now what was it I came upstairs for?
I'd better go back down to jog my memory.
There were no phone calls.Well, maybe the phone rang
When I was out in the garden.
You didn't tell me to put out the washing,
I would've remembered that.
That woman who was in a moment ago
Is she new to the neighbourhood?
She's been living in our street
For the last fifteen years? It's a long street.
There's no need to shout! It must
Have slipped my mind.
OK,my memory's not what it used to be.
Old age catches up with us all.
Your turn will come.
Left to me,Doc,I wouldn't be here,
She forced me to come,
Says I'm lost in a maze of amnesia.
