Confronted eye to eye
Deep in the jungle
A Bite
Predator venom attack
Accelerating poison
Effect thereafter
Slowly shortness of breath
The thought how much time left
Body rhythms started to erupt
Suddenly black out
King Cobra took charge
Control and Large
Death was slowly sinking in
Medical Staff response arrived
Luckily in time
The venom was quickly extracted
Victim survived the ordeal
Could have been worse
The venom could have been with no reverse
Curse of the King Cobra
Caution alert
Beware

You taught me the courage of stars before you left
How light carries on endlessly,
even after death
With shortness of breath
You explained the infinite
And how rare and beautiful
it is to even exist

Bagatelle
You see the old olive tree at the entrance of the village
take it for granted until you see the tree is dying
still, it has about it a non-communicative dignity
an acceptance of life`s unplanned cosmic shortness.
Dying slowly, a botanist is trying new soil around
to get more mileage, but in the plant is
too old, cow dung or artificial fertilizer can stop the tree
bark goes wrinkled, 300 years is enough
To be dead is to be unborn
there is no second coming
Not even for a 300-year-old tree.
The morning wakes us up with a dance of sunlight
thought of buying a pair of shoes, bagatelles are
the sum of our existence.

Practicing how to breathe, when there's a shortness of breath.A slow rhythm in the background calms me down, when a void tried to look into me.I was up alone yet again while the demons of the night visited me. Has it been a year now since sleep has become paralysing.I dared something much deeper within me, to find out it wasn't me who was talking back. A mindless creature may exist outside my comfort zones. Too long since we found a sense of belonging inside our lives, so I stepped into other people's life. Only to be found as different than all the rest. Being like this was never choice, have you ever seen what afflicts me? Please don't kick me out of your circle, it's dark where I am.I found you to understand me, helped me out of my misery. It's a gratitude that I don't belong with the monsters,my skin still remembered the abuse it's done to me. I've grown to be stronger than them, yet still my mind has captivated an attention of a million.

October creeps amid the shadows
Lengthening
The shortness of the day
Dancing amid the pumpkins
Chortling in its chill
Adding boney fingers to the trees
Reaching into our fears
Tickling with terror
The mystery of a gleeful night
As demons dance with ballerinas
Midget masterminds plot
Against larger super heroes
Trembling
As the door opens
A hand reaches out
A shriek, a panic of footsteps
A hollow laughter trailing
October
She scares ‘em every year
But gives really great treats

the child held onto her grandmother
knowing she was in safe hands
her mother smiled, glad they had this time
she understood the shortness of life better than most
she loves you, she told her mother
and I love her, her mother replied.
She handed the baby to her daughter.
They had to be going, but they would be back tomorrow
she was glad she lived here now,
having moved closer because of this child
knowing that a working mother with a child needed her own mother
three generations of women, depending on each other
comforting each other, leaning on each other
one of the strongest relationships in an uncertain world

My tongue tastes the sweetness of your kiss
Both heart and spirit are awake
The long languid suppleness of this
Is almost too much for me to take
My body trembles from your light touch
As you softly caress my cheek
This time with you that I love so much
Is disarming as my knees grow weak
Heart pounds with a shortness of breath
Oh what a delectable sin
And though it draws me closer to death
Still, I can't wait to do it again

Do you ever feel like you are dying
Like someone is sitting on your chest
Constricting the flow of oxygen
feeling the shortness of breath
Pressure that threatens to steal your last breath
I'm not dying
Although sometimes
I wish I was.

Gentle flakes dance gracefully to the ground
Each one made with perfectly unique crystals
They blow and swirl, going around and around
Until reaching their destination, frosting the world below
As snow falls during the brisk cold of winter
It is beautiful and alive, lasting for a period of time
Just like a fire that we can add to tinder
But in time, the flame will always burn out
We fall like snowflakes, each one of us set apart
Alive as we take our journey, creating meaning in our existence
The shortness of life is what motivates our hearts
To strive for greatness, to make our marks
And then we melt, to fade away into time
The cosmic carousel of the universe moving forward
The seasons change and move us past our prime
Until the new snow falls in the next yearly cycle

Anxiety.
Breathing heavily,
heart fluttering,
shortness of breath.
Still environment surrounding me.
Overly piercing voices of others.
Pounding head.
Worry creeps in.
Will it be different today?
Will today be the day it all changes?
Or is it once again the paranoia?

The Autumn crocuses sway
amongst the shadows of the pine trees
The air is resonant with smoke
As the buddleia dies down
August as thick as musk
Blackbird came a calling
about Autumns shortness
Somber yet always lonely
The impending storms
ignite the skies
Finding a talisman
To acknowledge the epiphany
August you are a gust of leafs
floating downstream
you are about heartfelt loss
Tameness is not spoke

I live like a cancer - quick, unplanned growth unheeding of greater designs.
I devour information like a starving wolf - never sated, never tasting the goodness I consume.
I throw myself into activities under exhausting self-compulsion. I should ... so I do ... so I'll die ...
I create in a fit of madness, barely finishing one draft before my mind races to the next.
I busy myself and flood my ears with music.
I let my seething mind boil over without restraint.
I do what I can to escape thinking of you - O Time.
Scythe-wielding Saturn, most ancient of fears.
First to murder his father, only to taste the same fate.
Do I fear death so much?
I don't know ...
But I quail at the shortness of life.
There's so very much I want to do ...
And surely it's better to do much, right?
Especially when we're not sure whether all we do is right.
How can we love what we fear? What we dread?
Time, O Time ... Time ... Time .... Time .....

Shortness of breath, the struggle with stairs
The paranoid thoughts, of judgemental stares
Tomorrow I'll start, next week I will too.
The person you're fooling can be only you.
You carry on, each day just the same.
Every week again and again
No planning, no prepping, just take and away.
Spiralling down, delay underway
Hoping and dreaming, I'll do this one day!
One month later, a burger, a pie
Feeling low, as life passes by
Outstretched clothes, low confidence too
It's now your decide to do this for you!
You take to the web, to find nearest group
Hoping and praying "Please not only soup"!
The hardest part? First step through the door. Always remember, who you're doing this for.
You meet all the members and go through the plan.
At this point you realise, "Oh yes I can".
Now weighing and measuring, healthy A & B
The change is incredible for all to see.
The feeling of pride, the spring in your step.
It's now you can't wait for what life brings next.

The Stirling Castle flowers speak
To those who stop their feet and mind walking
And declares in honesty the verity of the corporeal soul
Among the insects who fill the air.
The Queens of the Castle though colourful, beautifully crafted, fresh, scented, celebrated and majestic
Will enjoy a short reign
Before they fade in the summer Sun
But the shortness of their reign
Does not traduce their glory and usefulness.
But the invisible soul smells the new life won
Sees the hope in the beauty
Hears the sound of the Chief musician
Feels the joy of the Producer.
And has Royal ascent to lounge and play
For the dancing Composer calls the tune
Tends His garden
Protects His field
Provides for His guardians.
When these Queens pass,
Next season, new proclaimers will be appointed,
And continue to personify the beauty of Him.

It happening again
I see it
Even with me
eyes closed
I talking about my
sister Brenda
you know.
I wanted it
many times.
Jerry first than mom.
The shortness
of breath.
That feeling of
what next.
Standing behind
her walker
Oxygen hose
It all the same
you know.
Brenda fell down
yesterday
It all happening
the same way.
I want to crawl
into a small hole
and just peek out
now and than.
Until her or my life
come to that very end.
If it was not for God.
To walk us through
I don't know what
I would do .
Because
It happening again...
