soar

for I soar the unrestricted skies a terrestrial to bring my demise how lowly of me to die by the sword such a small forgiving creature abhorred drive the wavered blade through my diapsid a symbol of freedom, now fallen and placid

Move

Your story
I move forward,
	But I left something behind
		Did you take it?
Or did I give it to you?
It’s hard to say now
I hardly remember how it came to be
your voice never wavered,
your hands never shook
I begin again knowing you always start anew

Twenty-Below Zero

The deepest chill of wavered Will-
Dry and drained of thoughts once Sane
No rush, no haste- just Time to kill
(As nervousness engulfs my Brain!)
The solemn place no eyes invade-
A world away from another's touch
The Mental Fortress I have made
From trusting people far too much...

Love

To convict a man
you first must break his spine.
He will stand again,
like a budding flower,
ever knowing the
tears that crawled
and wavered
in his hands.

He will only speak
your name,
my love,
and the pulses of
each finger,
wrapping around yours,
will vibrate the world.

Stare

You never touch
Just stare
One moment of sun
To melt me later
Do you smell my turmoil?
Your lips twist my minds tale
Your fingers strum hypnotic
Silence only wavered
For verse and chorus
Now tightened to me and my blink
Which you did breath in
In that longest night
While under jack's guidance

The Wheat Fields

Golden like the summer sun,
While down upon the field it shone
Upon that sea, bereft of green,
Which wavered in the heat-haze sheen.
So many ears,
Yet none to hear
The melodic trill,
That drifts from winged feathered thrill
Of birds that watch me.
As i sit amidst the wheat fields.

Three Faces of I

I chased my selves
down the hallway tonight,
and called them both by name

They stopped and wavered
before looking away,
turning their backs again

Subliminal
gravity captured the space,
attraction thrice denied

The fusion once splintered
reuniting itself,
me, myself—and I

A Child's Laughter

I heard a child's laughter
it wavered in the breeze
coming from somewhere in my mind
across a world of seas
T' was like a faintly tinkling bell
so far away it flew
and fluttered like a butterfly
across a sky of blue
I know not where it came from
but as I knelt to pray
I heard my child's laughter
long ago and far away

With a Lessening of Light

I pressed a barb
under my tongue
to remind me

I pierced glass
into my heart
to awaken a story

as blood dripped
a memory formed
in the pain and suffering
an effigy wavered

then I knew
some stories
should never be told
and forever remain

locked under my tongue
speared into my heart
and silent in eternity

Enticed Into the Storm

An earthen vessel, driven by wind;
I'm tossed upon rocks by waves of sin.
Patience as captain; I'm unsteady at helm.
I wavered in faith; I'm lost in thy realm.

Rough seas of vanity; temptations conceived.
Drowning my soul as the flesh deceived.
Thy word is the light; the Sun's burning rays;
For mercy and salvation in thy name I pray.

Do Not Take This Wrong Please

Now don’t take this wrong my mentor said
but when you interview for this job….

“Don’t be myself?” I guessed.

She laughed. “Don’t be SO MUCH YOU,” she suggested.
“Just give them a bit of you.”

Because I am too much?
We could not stop laughing.

During the interview, my heart said “Be the real you, be yourself, be YOU.”
I did, I got the job, and I have never wavered from this inner voice.

Letting Mum Know

My Mum is wonderful,
her love is so tender
and natural. Over the
years her caring ways
have never wavered. I
should not hesitate to
ask a special favour.

My Mum knows all my
highs and lows. Comforting
me throughout the years.
Her love is so endearing,
exquisitely reassuring.

To my Mum I give a heart felt
"thank you". Mum I'm sorry for
not saying it enough. I love you
dearly and fully appreciate you.

Your Love Ever So Inviting

your love opens to me
like a mother to embrace her infant son
and yet i can't partake in this high
that keeps me going

i have sobered through my addiction to you
i shook in my bed, convulsing, tears streaming down my face
near the point of death only to be brought lower than before
your love has never faultered
wavered
or denied me in any way
and yet i find
that it is hard to accept that i can't live without you

I Wander About

I wander about
like a fish out of water
in the surf blue sea

Me a traveler
in the congress of gray rocks
where carcajous howl

A vacant lot mind
wavered in the breeze empty
land soul never rests

Heart sighs seeks haven
warm breasts of the beloved
in my country home

I see the river
boatmen singing love ballad
flows out of water

The Rachel Quinn Acrostic-Italian Sonnet 11-8-2012

Taken to awaken favored
Havens, where images are stored,
Expressions, one can not ignore,
Render visions that are savored.
Aesthetic art provides flavor,
Catering to a hungry core,
Hungry eyes, hungering for more
Extracts that can not be wavered.
Literary images show
Quintessential beauty in ink;
Uncompromised poetic flow.
Imaginations are in sync,
Now that she glows from head to toe,
Named as the one, of which I think.

A Mother's Love

A mother's love is unconditional
From the time a child was conceived to the day
he was born, her love is shown In every little
things that she is doing in readiness to his
arrival.
She cries when he is sick,
she wrap her arms around him and hug him to her.
She laughs when he does something funny.
Praise him when he succeed.
No matter what he does or will do her love for
him will never wavered.
For her love is unconditional.

Bender

All night
a sleepwalking death
stumbled in and out of his prone body.

He had been drinking again,
whisky fumes rolled around
a dry, thick tongue.

The air in the room
wavered from hot to cold,
feverish self-repeating scenes
of Paganini trilling a fiery violin
haunted his aching brow.

A sledgehammer dawn hit him.
Death withdrew from dulled senses,
yet it lingered like a bloodshot eye,
at the bottom
of a half-full decenter.

Katie

the butterflies beat their wings
as soon as i began to sing

even when i was done
i couldn’t say that it was fun

my face turned crimson red
there was a pounding in my head

the notes i’d hit went all wrong
i told her i couldn’t sing the song

my voice had wavered on the note
i sang louder to stay afloat

the teacher stood to say who
at that moment i knew

who he was about to call
who would rise above them all

alas it was not me
her name was katie

Simple Flowers

My heart keeps asking what you meant
When without much fanfare you said

You don't like the fancy bouquet
Born of our prosperous days,

For you still love those simple flowers
I used to give you when we were poor.

I don't know how to tell you my dear
Flowers too have evolved over the years,

And this may be a good time to assure you
The vase so genuine, has never wavered.

The Mast

I stand tall and proud upon this ship
Never have I wavered on any trip.
If you listen you will hear me in the wind,
speaking to you again and again.
Stories of a ragging sea,
while the fisherman worked below me.
Lightening and thunder clashed in the sky,
but I held firm against the tide.
Sometimes the sky was so blue,
and we would sail straight through.
Yes I am the Mast upon this vessel it’s true,
Sail with me and I will protect you.

Blessed And Highly Favored

Blessed And Highly Favored Miracle Man 4/26/2024 I know that I’m blessed, and highly favored. Because my love for Jesus, has never wavered. When near death, I returned from the brink. God gave me thoughts, about eternity to bethink. He took from my thoughts, those years I had wasted. Giving me a new vision, of remaining years untasted. I’ve gone through much, yet remain feeling blessed. I wouldn’t have my testimony, without God giving the test.
