“Wake up, breakfast is cooking.”
Bacon in cast iron skillet,
sounds and smells, wafted through the tent.
“Coming”, the crackling bacon got me!

Summer’s End
The closing of a door
Winter beckons
Carefree days
Of sunshine
Wafted away
Summer’s warmth
Chilled by
Winter’s wrath

delight wafted in the forest
zipping in and out of shadows
faerie like and pretty
moon smiled with appreciation
enjoying the delicate light and lively moth
feeling honored she shared his name

Warm, sweet, delicious, and dripping with flavor
Cinnamon vanilla ice cream melts off her top
I was salivating during the baking
lovely fragrance wafted through grandma’s kitchen
Peach cobbler
Yummy!

The leaf wafted down,
In my side view.
Landed gently beside me,
The tree saying, "Howdy Do".
Misty morning.
Lots of rain and dew.
The tree saying good morning.
Next,
It will be you!

Whatever happened to those days of wine and roses?
when the fragrance of love wafted through our noses.
And each moment was filled with so much joy,
like our childhood days playing with a new toy.

Gifts of love grace Spring cabins' still-shivering mantle
Intoxicant scents wafted into every corner -- covenantal
Luscious colors allure tempt Hope in dreamer's hearts

everyone watched her walk toward the piano
wondering if she was the maestro
surely not; she was ethereal and lovely,
a goddess, an angel, a heavenly vision
as the notes wafted around the room we knew
she was the maestro, and had been heaven sent

on our way back from a trip,
got down by the bright streetlamp.
hunger raged, bowels rumbled.
the inviting smell of food,
wafted from nearby cafe.
noodles and spicy meat fry,
with a cup of steaming tea,
titillated our palate.

Nondescript brown bird of renown,
nightly you serenade me.
Golden dulcet tones flood the woods
and I am wafted far away,
off into a wondrous dream world
full of mystical creatures.

Gone by, so many moments
so many nights and days
Lost in time, those dreamy eyes,
playful smile and the innocent face
First love, first kiss and the heartbreak
a soft wind blew and wafted it away
Bohemian friends, stories to tell
just waved goodbye and left partway.

As water slowly falls onto
...tiered bamboo pipes,
like gently tipping levers
rhythmic sounds induce peace...
Light breeze astound the senses
aroused from scent of hyacinth,
wafted as a swath of silk,
caressing the skin serenely...
as purpose contemplated.
.....without distractions....

smoke wafted up
from my worried lips
my phone was dead
starbucks doesnt have outlets
we had run for 5 miles that day
so the extra few
i ran to get home
didnt matter much
the people stared at the musty youth
running in flat shoes
i bet they saw some deadbeat hoodlum in the night
Im a killer without a sense of direction
the same thing I guess

If your turning backs were bricks to this craving soul
And your eyes not meeting my searching little windows
Then this bed is a twin to China’s great wall.
Enveloped with scorching breeze
colossal reaching, unheard touches.
Where have all the blazes gone
In every skin-to-skin
In every passionate skim.
Has the apathetic snow wafted the glares?

Wending her way westward, wafted on whispering wings
Sailing serenely southward, slithering past secluded scenes
Nudging northward, noticing narrow, noctilucent moonbeams
Edging effortlessly eastward, entering ecstasy's eerie baleen...
Grace dillied and dallied, then dithered and doodled and dozed
Could Heaven's Handiwork save her? ~ Neither angels nor seraphs know

I held the SPLENDOR baby
In my LAVENDER night gown
The FRAGRANT baby lit up the room
And turned my world around
The BLISS baby WAFTED
A breath across my face
As it WHISPERED A DULCET ELOQUENCE
That only I can trace
It babbled in a way
So we had this understanding
That the sound of TRANQUILITY LILTING
Was all that his little heart was demanding

For your birthday I give you the sideways articulation
of red-tailed shadows against the
screaming stop light crush,
The sweat-stained, wine-soaked nights
Spent nodding into cottons
And a box of dreams felt once then
Unopened and lost.
We’ll sing ether wafted alleys,
robot-kissed breasts
bright ribbons
two-penny condoms--
I’d give you the sky if you would speak again
my baby angel

...and with apologies to Tony Bennett.
I smelled a fart in San Francisco,
It wafted out across the Bay.
An Oakland breeze just blew it back,
A tourist gasped, "A gas attack!"
A drag queen shrieked, "Oy vey!
That's gross!", and swooned away.
Who cut that fart in San Francisco
The CIA is keen to see.
If they find out it's from North Korea or Iran,
It could be the fart that started World War III.

A Trixie Belden Mystery Novel!
lost in the bowels of the closet
Opened the missive slowly.
Felt like coming home
Smell you can get nowhere else
From nothing else
Wafted into my nostrils.
The smell of an old friend,
A book from my childhood
It is not found in any sprays or candles.
Cannot be duplicated, replicated or even hinted at.
The smell of an old, familiar, wonderful childhood book.

Surreal hallucinations wafted dense,
metaphysical quantities swirled fast,
normal vision opaqued beyond farthing,
neurons rallied electrically in maze,
storey up the ground was holy,
brain had distanced from the body,
dismembered body parts were as yet members,
to keep me whole,
brain still had the control,
mental activity sometimes catpulted in hyper,
body felt left behind,
but the whole felt super.

Aroma of lilacs wafted to me as I peered in
Feeling the mysticism of magic, sensing hidden faeries
A gentle breeze coaxed me to come a bit closer
Intimidated by the reverence I felt, I held back.
A monarch swished past me, on her way
I heard the trill of a joyful robin and her young ones
Ancestral voices welcomed me, persuaded me to take a step
Inside the magical world of elves, gnomes, faeries, and flowers

The smell of humidor
Charmed the old house and
Frightened me as I ascended the
Narrow stairwell that gentle
October morning.
The song of autumn was playing
Low, and with astute grace.
Silent, the royal smell wafted between Cuba
And Denmark,
Across fat rank grass of fecund roots.
I snuffled through fogs of earliness,
Webbed by clamping cold.
Cigars without smoke took over from the
Humidor and hugged my lungs.

SUMMER RISPETTO
In gentle flowing waves of soft warm fragrance
It slowly wafted across the summer field
Carrying with it in solemn elegance
A feeling to me that has yet been unstilled
There is no explanation of the warm glow
That enveloped me as it passed by so slow
The onslaught of this wonderful time of year
A time for me that will remain oh so dear

Rispetto
The news slowly wafted past her ears
Not knowing to laugh or show tears
The gut reaction deep in the heart
Only catching drifts as it came apart.
She hoped the news would be good
But only dampened her mood
In spite of the time that went by
Now all she wanted was to cry.
So many ups but lately the down
Wanting to be homeward bound
Another surgery drawing near
Needing to get over hospital fear.
