He May Not Have Beaten the Hare-But He Did Beat the Fire

echoes from fallen timber, tucks his head
slowly escaping the smoke
he lives another day

Agile nostalgic time traveler retrieves

Moon Swim

day tucks into lake
beneath a blanket of stars~
sun lends light to moon

water gleams with night~
still sky shatters as frogs
splash into the moon

Plastic Surgery

When my body begins to burgeon,
I go to see my plastic surgeon.
His magic tucks and nips
will make me smaller hips;
but he just smiles and says, “Stop splurgin'.”

Nightlife

As the moon wafts a brilliant smile
Stars wink in reaction for miles
Gently night tucks in

Darkness settles in with silence
Nocturnal beings residence
Till sunrise ascends

Through Cold Rain

While lamp post streaks on floor, darkness pervades just as nightfall dims… He tucks warm arms around mine through rain, cold. Brian's Select G

Minister of Strangest Thrills

Poor Q. Pine tucks away all his quills
The ones that give perverts such strange thrills
   Lovingly caresses them
   Religiously blesses them
Now he's off to see Beverly's Hills

Handoff

As day drifts into silent slumber
The sun, itself, tucks away
Under a blanket of darkness
Leaving but the softest nightlight
The moon, for us to use as guide
And inspiration in the nighttime hours

Good Ol' Scoobs

My Pit-Bull puppy, five months old, Sir Scoobs
looks at me crazy, arches and poops.
His tail tucks he runs,
he new what time it was,
after a juke, I could not subdue...

The Moment's Arrived

Your ship has come in
    the moment's arrived
  No need to dream of
    gold nuggets to thrive

  The moment is now
    time ticks, tucks it away
  Reach out and grasp her
    no more comes she today

Good Night

The spherical fire
tucks itself to bed
burning out slowly
as it sinks into the sea

Now waking
the opaque face
takes his place
in the black carpeted
sky that embeds
the heavens diamonds

The hour of dreams
is upon us...

Falter

I watch a single girl
falter
when her face falls
her costume becomes parody
trying too hard she transforms awkward
and moves away
tucks into herself toward invisibility

dont listen to an invisible
older woman
with a turn
you could be fabulous

As Her Artistry Prevails

Nature does a landscape well,
And in vivid hues, the sea—
Capturing each wave and swell,
Or as perfectly, a tree!

Even as she smiling toils,
Till her artistry prevails—
Then tucks away her brush and oils,
And her Masterpiece, unveils!

Fairytale

A boy dreams of a fairy.
She will come and take my tooth today.
His mum tucks him up in the night.
Sleep well I love you she say’s.
A smile so wave goodbye.
An eternal soul so where are we today.
Bottled milk can I have it know.
A dream that lasted a life time.

The Ritual

Listen to poem:
he tucks her into bed
like a good little girl
tells her a story and
kisses her on the cheek

she feels warm and safe
with her eyes closed for the night
stars and moonbeams conjured
her dreams launched to faraway lands

Sketch of a Country Burial

I went where the wind blows,
Cool sod my last bed
Sweet blowin’ winds then laid down in the prairie-grass and the wide orange sky tucks me in.
Not far away a trains-a-howlin’
Singin’ me a last lullaby
Accompanied by the souls of 1,000 rail-road hobos
Crooning their dusty blues.

Some Say I Dream Too Much

Some say I dream too much--
focusing on far too simple things:
like water lilies
and raindrop-rings--
spiders in tucks
strumming silk strings;
stars slipping across
seas of downy night;
while others waste their sleeping,
steadfast, I close my eyes
trimming sails
for deeper light....

Sounds Like A...

Beat beat
This heart
Flees along
The water
Frozen
From the sky
Above
What will it do
Where will it go
Hide hide
This heart
Tucks underneath
Muscles and bones
Waiting for it to be
Safe again
Jump jump
Into the dark
And let it flow
As it floats
To its own beat

Nostalgia

Nostalgia hides within the hopes
Of the present
Sours as it passes
Tucks itself into cerebral
Alleyways
Lingers in fitful dreams
Grows as it ripens
Ignites the trembling torch of
Ageing's adolescence

Bitter Reality

Avoids reflections
Mirror no longer an ally
She watches her youth pass by
Her outlook is bleak
Wants to hold on forever
Blinded by a fantasy

Endless youth she craves
She plays the addicting game
Of needles and lifts and tucks
Grasping at nothing
Chasing the impossible
Inevitable defeat

Aging Woes

Forgetful moments, hair thinning,
Memories fading, ears ringing,
Hands wrinkled, boobs drooping,
Knees weak, words looping,
Silver top, hot flushing,
Bladder weakness, loo rushing,
Bones tired, sleeping less,
Couldn’t care, such a mess,
Eyes blurring, tummy tucks,
Getting older, really sucks.

Disregards

So she just pushes up her glasses,
And tucks back a piece of hair.
She puts her bloody hands underneath the desk,
And straightens up in her chair.

She has to be there for her friends,
And of course, she knows.
Her feelings aren't those that matter,
She must fight bother her own and others' foes.

A Mother's Love

Amother knows her wishes,
From her lips comes a kiss,
Wondering if she will always be there,
Afraid of the truth within,
Hugging her sons goodnight,
Wishing the clock of time would stop,
Always praying into the night,
A mother's love is always there,
As she tucks you in and whispers in your ear,
I Love You!
