Suddenly it does.

This rapid thing that ticks and tocks.

Look up and it's gone...

Spring Noon
Clock
tick tocks,
the wind roars,
dogs bark, time is
12
Doors

fear rises,
but its spring noon

Time
Time is more important then future.
It is more important because of the soft ticks and tocks.
From behind and ahead
The race that never ends....

Alligators want my 46C’s.
I throw them hard with plenty of ease.
Here come the crocks.
With toes in socks.
I scream as I run from their tick tocks....

Halftime
Clyde Stanson sought to repair clocks
he labored in school of hard knocks.
Getting them to tick
was a simple trick.
But they wouldn't produce any tocks....

Time
Time and time again.
Time starts,
Time stops,
Time spreads,
Time sprouts,
Time ticks,
Time tocks,
Clocks are the keepers of time.
Time is the keepers of us....

Ooh science
So the first law of thermodynamics
Put simply is that if it tocks it ticks
Energy gets swapped
It never gets cropped
I think my first law of science just clicked...

Constant ticks follow tocks
 Causing seconds to pass

At Nan's
At Nan's.

 The pendulum swings,
Tocks the Grandfather clock,
The needles click, the garment grows
The fire crackles with joy,
So cosy sleeps the child,
Till cups in saucers gangle,
And cake smells waft the air....

There was once a Swiss clock-maker named Brachs

Who specialized in making cuckoo clocks

But with age he'd lost his touch

         He went cuckoo inasmuch

Striving to keep ticks in sync with the tocks...

Big Box Full of Colored Socks
Big Box Full of Colored Socks

Started sleeping after some ticks and tocks,
Where cute cat had been found in a big box;
All curled up,
Round like cup,
That did contain many different colored sox.

This actually happens each morning when
our cat is discovered....

After Mechanics of the Mundane, By Dilly Dally
The mechanics of the clock
The stutter of the ticks and tocks
The cogs eternally clenching teeth
Singing songs from underneath
The changing features of the clock face
Each hand steadfast in its place
Pendulum swinging, sounds like a knock
Who's there? I ask. Tick-tock-tick-tock....

I scamper across moss covered rocks

In just my socks

The clock ticks and tocks

and i find myself along side the locks

Watching boats settle into the docks

and i watch as they snear, because their jocksI

turn away and head back to my rocks

Listening to the water's ticks and tocks...

Body Blow
Swollen eyes
drip with clever tears
a thin disguise
years of slippery lies

A loss of face
fools gold in the hand
a rush of space
words snap into place

The silver voice
forked-tongue delivers
practiced poise
cold weapon of choice

The silence breathes
a clock tick-tocks
a body heaves
a lifetime seethes...

Premium Member Attention of a Universe
Time is a parse of moments –
each life a chronicle of ticks
and tocks, our deeper mystery often
obscured by the clang of our clutter –

we live by terms like stops and starts...
the in and out racket of hearts – truth
somewhere impaled amidst the overlooked
silence, shouted down by riotous echoes...

Forever
I had forever
   then unexpectedly
   the clock stopped.
The ticking had slowed
   when I wasn't paying attention
and the tocks between were longer than before.
Breath waned after a miss, a slip and faltering
and heartbeat, once loud and pounding with strength
  ceased - still and silent
and forever was gone....

Home
What a beautiful existence
Now that I have returned
To the land that bore me
And the father that created me
So many years, lost to us
And so many dreams,
Not realized
But so much love in his eyes
Never once giving up
Too many questions to ask
Too few moments like these
Only ticking tocks going by
Left silent pieces in time...

Westport Winter

Dull
same as outside
costly lamps are lit
while we waited
they leave with bags
tepid lipstick'd
cups, coffee stained
saucer dereliction
They'll fetch cars
before tickets run out
raining now
a gauze curtain
to make headlights dance
like Salome
Performances
outside Maddens bar
and rain tick-tocks a rhythm
on umbrella's...

Tick Tock
Time ticks, time tocks,
love grows stronger, yet it mocks.

Days and months and years go by,
Will my heart and soul defy?

Do my eyes and ears deceive?
Does my heart dare to believe?

Is my heart telling a lie?
Will my soul be left to die?

Only time and fate will tell,
and only when the time is well.

Will your love stay true to me?
It is you who holds the key....

Premium Member Between Tick and Tock
I am here
then gone
there
somewhere
nowhere
in a split second

a short duration of time
that seems beyond time
like the duration of time it takes
a bouncing ball
at the very very top of the bounce
to start descent

no more tricks or treats for me
no more ticks or tocks
but me
caught floating
for one very very long duration of time
between tick and tock...
