Peely-Wally

If someone admits to feeling “peely-wally” It's a Scottish term meaning unwell and crawly Just stay tuned I'm really festooned With tidbits of stuff both inspiring and laudatory

Short Poem On Living

I always try living each day in the moment, spending scant time on what might lie ahead. The future is uncertain, and only God knows, so I review tidbits sleeping in my past instead.

New Year, New Hope

Years gone in a snap
Older paves way for new ones
Better days unfold.

Glimpse olden memoirs
Tidbits all grandest new hope
New year came on spot.

Past same as present
Joy comes with same minded pal
Tomorrow is now.

Dirty Laundry

flapping on the line
tidbits hung out to air-dry
wash day tomorrow

for "friends" and fam'ly
this one-up-put-down-manship
a game that we play

social networking
broad-edged music of the wind
lives to haunt one's mind

His Name Was Weng

~ His Name was Weng ~

     He was my friend
     penned odds and ends
     little snippets
     tasty tidbits

     B r e v i t y
     was his creed
     V e r b o s i t y
     a foul deed

     Weng lives on
     in haiku heaven
     inking niblets
     five plus seven

Who Am I

As i walk through the dense cold fog
Fog that seems to invade my thoughts.
Thoughts that slip by disguised as if whispered
Whispered stories of times I've forgotten.
Forgotten tidbits of joy like sprinkles of light.
Light that shine bright
Bright enough to kill the shadows
Shadows that haunt me
Me? Who am I?

Cluttered

Pale, unloved, unheard,
a voice so pure,
though crowded,
I have much to say.

Hear me out,
I will play bravery.
If you listen,
I will give you knowledge.

I have seen the world,
through eyes of sordid brass.
Cleverly stolen tidbits
release my inner self.

Treason! I am betrayed.
Acknowledgment of sin,
an ironic pain indeed.
Maybe best unfelt?

Cherries In the Attic

These dreams, always gnawing and cold.
So fleet and free like a rabid mountain stream.
I'm always pursued, then over run.
Tormented and torn to tidbits.
Bitten on the neck by death.
A lone glass cherry left to die.
At the bottom of a black goblet night.

The sun usually arrives on time.
Gleaning black nesses and rabbit screams.
From this cherry stained attic of a dream.

Being a Dragon Hoarder

Being a dragon hoarder is now work at all
I collect tidbits of aluminum foil, rolled and tall
I have boxes and bags full of things from the mall
Items also I have found in a bathroom stall

Being a dragon hoarder is what I do best.
I bring stuff home, and plunk it down in my nest.
I collect wings, feathers, animals, especially little mice.
Who grow up and reproduce, so isn’t that nice?

Captivating Thoughts

Captivating thoughts are rarely kept secret Thinking them interesting we pass them on And, sometimes, to our everlasting regret Captivating thoughts are rarely kept secret Telling friends the tidbits we ought to forget Sometimes drawing from them mutual scorn Captivating thoughts are rarely kept secret Thinking them interesting we pass them on.

Dreams and Things

Staring up at the ceiling floor

As the big hand on the clock

Races past one

Hearing the mouse rouse out of his

Long sleep

To gather tidbits and play

While the pussycat full belly and all

Lounges blissfully counting mice

Feeling a drop of sweat on my brow

As the fan turns upside down

Not day dreaming at night silly

Just dreaming today

A sunny Beautiful day

In...December

Permanently Stained

With a whirr and grind
Slowly creeps up inching along
Then the banging sounds
The "Bobcat" reaches his paw
Out as far as it can
Pulling back black plastic
Discarded cardboard boxes
Tidbits of vegetables, file thirteen coupons
Last nights scrapes

Then the male voices
Men in banana yellow shirts
Permanently stained
Men who come once or twice weekly
Creeping along
Getting the tough smelly job done..

Denial

And so I steal from your love,
Feed off tidbits of life
This is all a masquerade.
Death has a raid existing over my heart.

Sunlight is waning, I no longer see
Yet I stumble on to hide
Im dying inside

These moments of automatic
Numb response
Relieve the kinetic loss

Let me smile, let me laugh and deny,
Tonight they all fall apart.
And so I steal from your love,
I have none to return, it’s all gone.

No Place Like Home

When it gets too comfy,
As a vagabond.
When you can't find your niche,
And you need to belong.
There's no place like home.
And you just cant return.
When the hunt is lost,
Destination en route,
Halts excruciating,
Foundations removed,
No place like home,
Stranded to brood.
When beloveds estrange,
And Strangers invade.
'too soon' trivializes,
And tidbits remain.
No place like home,
No place less sane.

Crumby

When you’re eating a cookie
Or pastry or cake
Or any sweet offering
Someone did bake

There are bound to be crumbs
On your plate left behind
(For the ones for whom finger-licks
Are too refined).

Though if crumbs fall from something
Delicious to taste,
It’s a shame to let tidbits
Like those go to waste.

Which is why I don’t get,
Since such morsels are yummy,
Why something not good
Is referred to as crummy.

a spot of tea in the sea

Said squid to snail, “let’s have a spot of tea.”
Mermaid was invited, and she arrived at three
Grandpa fish read a book about a tale of the sea.
They had such a lovely time, it was an eating spree.

Snail had fixed donuts covered sprinkles of pure glee.
Mermaid brought along cakes made by her maid, LaFee.
Squid brought along tiny tidbits of salamander bree.
Grandpa fish came empty handed, but his reading was quite free.

Welcome To the Show

Welcome to 'Just Say No'
  As you all know
The object of the game
  Is to avoid everlasting shame

No juicy secrets may be revealed
That's the easy part of the deal
No matter what transpires
You must not light the audience's fire

With salacious tidbits or lascivious lies
That's the only way you win first prize
A weekend without smartphone, social media or TV
Indulge yourself ~ in a Shakespearean reading spree

Turkey Tom's Tiny Tidbits, For Carol

"Anything i can do, you could do better!"
I'm different. I like my sushi well done.
"Sure you're right!...Who cares?"
I'm as wise as a potato chip.
Is it illegal to leave a night-light on in the day?
"If music be the food of love...I'm tone deaf."
So what? I guess my self-confidence made me inferior.
I hired an interior decorator for my refrigerator.
I spend my time figuring out how to spend my time!!

good day , Carol....

Hope this was Okay

Warmth in a wigwam on a December afternoon.
The sun was going down, but it was cozy and hot inside.
my invited dinner guests would be here soon,
so, I began organizing things I wanted to eliminate or hide.

My early bird friend caught me and helped me out a bit.
What are we eating tonight? She asked in her curt way.
Tidbits, meats, cheeses, fruits, things to make us fit.
I brought fudge brownies, she told me “Hope this was okay”.

Vesuvious, no, never!
Veins of fire Etna gives
Vulcan, god of silver,
Various gems and gold,
Vermeil tidbits of bronze~
Verrayment to adorn
Venus his bride, his joy!

Neurotic Niches

Buried beneath all that's grey matters,
Convoluted in the circuitry ...
Lie the tiniest, little tidbits of
Distinction, to drive us to mystery.

They seem to protrude upon our psyche,
Like a reddened thumb, stuck to a hand.
While frolicking along the subconscious,
Looking to interrupt what is planned.

As pets go, these 'peeves' outlast,
Most other thoughts that come in play.
With an enduring quality beyond a
Visit ... with a preference to stay.
