scratch little backs
make the beds
Pack lunch sacks.

 I patch the jeans
darn the socks

comb curly locks.

 I drink tea

put on their p.j.'s
and hear childish prayers.

 The price might be sanity
paid in milky smiles
but there is NOTHING I would trade
for my motherhood miles!...
