Life's Climb

steep, rocky ascent -
divine source brightens vista
summits surpass blues

The King

He think he's the king of the hill
Because he have lots of bills
He get what he wants
No one tells him don't
He also summits people at will

Trails End

Surrender a comfort,
ambition rebuked
Content in my history,
old passions to suit

New mountains stay virgin,
those summits I’ve climbed
All truth in reflection
—whose peace I now find

Mountains

Majestic mounts tower
    mightily, like a king,
        Mesmerising poets'
minds with their grand power,
    Making them gladly sing
        moving songs 'bout sunset's
            magic, seen on summits.

Climbing Grief's Mountains

Throughout my life, the mountains of grief have been climbing

During which time myriads tears, profusely, I shed

I succeeded in conquering some of its highest summits

From where, at last, Heaven's laughter I heard ahead!

Wild Love Groves

I love you wild and free
From midnight to the dawning spree
When broken glass startles the mirror
Our love grows clearer

Through fortune and nebulous climb
Tucked into each other's sides
By mystic banter and throaty relief
Holding still in our belief
That love summits grow
With each passing leaf

Coronavirous Verse

Glorious human race!

Monstrous machines
unto globe thou place.

Surpassed grandeur,
overwhelmed with grace;

Heaven's territories
thou subdue 'nd embrace;

Surmounted all mysteries,
summits and space.

Yet, thy mightiness,
perfection never pace;

Tiniest Coronavirus,
fail thou to face!

Three Sisters

Three sisters ate three
sundaes on three Sundays on
Three Sisters' summits.

Faith climbed "Faith," Hope climbed
"Hope," and Charity climbed "Faith,"
"Hope," and "Charity."

The Writer

The secret of life,
making old things new:
fluffing the seas
long flattened
by sails…
restoring clouds
to the summits of mountains,
not one worth the climb
were it not for
high mysteries

I sit, pen in hand
as if holy--
we are all priests of a sort
(both light and dark)
our sacrament
that of creation.

Self discovery

I set out on a journey
To explore the depths of me
To know who I am,
And what I'm supposed to do.
As I made my way through the valleys,
climbed the tallest summits,
I battled my personal demons,
I overcame my own fears as well.
I found strength in my courage
And courage in my heart.
I discovered a new me.

Grandeur of Hills and Mountains

Hills tower reaching up azure heaven of luminous glow… now, summits thank the Lord. Mountains* display grandeur midst glorious s k y while pine needles freely s w a y praising God.
*Psalm 144:5 Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke. August 19, 2021

The Blind Hound

I know that if I ever do lose it,
It will be your fault.
I have acid stirring in my belly.
I'm a blind hound,
Running from the hitting stick.
Then there's you, the prosaic flower.
Your unimaginable summits.
Award winning expectations.
Higher than clouds.
I aspire to win your admiration,
Greedy for your grace.
I'm talking about popcorn, of course.

For You

Listen to poem:
I’ve flown the valleys
I’ve soared the summits
I’ve stalked the moon
That glitters in your eyes

I’ve walked the deserts
I’ve crossed the seas
I’ve kissed the sun
That shimmers in your eyes

Winter Place

snow ball icicles
angel man tunnel igloos
rains turn white droplets

snowy fluffy powder
pearls ivory frosty flakes
artists white canvas

cold frozen chairs
frigid chilled air nipping ears
hockey fans warm cheer

snow sums summits
cold air vapors fog mist
below zero temps

ice frost windowsill
snowy ivory chalk mounds
cast blank white canvas

Credit To Rio For Single Men Only

If you've never been to Rio
Then you've never lived your life
If you go there when you're single
You would leave there with a wife
There the mountains rise like sunset
As their summits piece the sea
Yes, I remember Rio
And what it's meant to me
It will take you by the hand
It will set your sad soul free
But your heart will be imprisoned
For all eternity

Mountain Waterfall

Hey mountain waterfall is tumbling,
 it dandles on the rocks
 and pale-faced maid
carried, would faint on the hands.

Hey breaking is the foehn spruces,
 snatching is on the peaks.
Its arm is swift and strong,
 but summits will withstand it.

Hey trickling is a drizzle.
 It's spreading to the huts
in mist is rising to the clouds -
 far-flung is to the sky.

Whispering Still

Shepherds
of echo
sirens
that call
Masters
of legend
trapped
in the Fall

Moonlight
on ice fields
whispering
still
Voices
stay buried
destiny’s
will

Sunlight
awakens
mountains
that sigh
Hidden on
summits
new answers
there hide

But with
 every Spring
a melting
ensues
Flowing
life’s message
recalled
— and renewed

In Every Fold

every fold
every curve
deep mystery
green verve

as the eyes
roam the summits
beauty turns up
shapes allure

waves rising
clouds on mounds
waves descend
fogs in the waist

ascent and descent
an exciting dance
once over
a deep trance

uphill journey
downward return
cups of tea
thorns and flowers

deep in the gorges
Babylonian darkness
your and mine
for a bath in light

She Never Hears

Through pain,
Through sorrow,
Through a lonely nights tears.

No warmth,
No love,
Only cold lifeless fear.

The locking
Of a door,
Sends your heart on a deep plummet.

In the darkness,
In the room,
Your anger summits.

Somewhere not far,
She plays a computer game,
Ignoring your screams of her name.

For in this horror,
In this nightmear,
You know it will always be the same.

She never hears anything.

Twin Peaks

I cannot think of mountains
without thinking of mine.
And how nice they are to climb.

Perched on the top
the view is sublime
of that valley of mine.

The Twin Peaks I call them.
Sharp summits on top.
Hold on...don't stop.

So smooth are the sides.
If you let go you might slide
down into that valley.

So lush and overgrown
you might never get home.
Forever lost and alone.

If God

If God is the Ocean,
are we water droplets and tidal waves?
If God is the Sun,
are we light beams and shadows?
If God is the Desert,
are we grains of sand and sandstorms"
If God is the Moon,
  are we moonbeams and darkness?
If God is the Mountain,
are we the rocky paths and the summits?
If God is the Wind,
are we spring breezes and thunderstorms?
If God is Eternity?
  are we the Now?

Sun and Moonlit Dreams

Mysterious and majestic mountains, mellow as gold,
At the sun soaked summits, sweeping clouds enfold,
Basking in brilliant beauty, beneath a boundless blue,
Welcoming willing wonder, while ages wandered by you.

Picturesque, predominant, and so pleasingly permanent,
Enormous, exotic, exhilarating, exalted time testament!
Inspiring imaginative, impassioned, illimitable dreams,
Like the lovely lazy ones, of moonlit lustrous gleams.

Dear Music

Dear Music
You search for me
And stretch my soul
To explore mountain summits never imagined

You touch my wounds
And navigate the pain
To discover a sacred space of peace and healing

You kiss my fears
And nudge my secrets
To chase formidable currents down a noble river

You collect my bliss
And scatter my joy
To soar exposed without a need for concealment

Dear Music
You search for me
And you find me
You'll always find me

Moon's Spoon of Peanut Butter

Crackling mischief waxes every new moon; Moon, the plaited devil
three harvests blue, summits the everest shelf to scrape out crunchy
goodness, and scurries away, with exasperated steps in tow.
