Premium Member All Night Cafe

The comfort of lights
Streaked across cafe Windows.
Noise like a blanket.
Cocooned by cacophony,
Refugee from loneliness.

Ideas and vivid images I soon find
Bristle and crowd my mind;
Stirred from sensations hidden below
Now on streaked palettes flow.

Conifers

Standing on this bluff,
Gazing past the conifers,
To sunset streaked clouds;
I number the days gone by
Since we last saw each other.

Saved

Coronavirus met its doom
When sunlight streaked into my room
I can't get a tan
Because of the ban
But it saved my Fruit of the Loom!

June's Morning Sky

Sun shines in the white streaked sky,

meshing with the aqua blue,

reflecting joy that is clear as a mirror.

Fruity Dessert

Sun kissed apple cheeks,
Honey streaked golden hair.
Strawberry lips against creamy skin,
Under sparkling cerulean candies.
My three daughters,
Sweet enough to eat.

Always Wanted To Travel the Stream In Liquid Form

allayed down the alley
streaked down every street
Rode on every road
languished with the lane
close was always loss
Avant guards the ave knew
squares were never around
Just tray revealing

Premium Member Lion Head

In the blue-souled shadows,
a lion-headed sunflower, head bowed.
Sunlight was just out of reach
Pixies totally out of touch.
Every moment of its life
streaked with the blush of dusk.

Dejavu

dejavu disguised as dreams
infiltrate
reality careens
impaled on mountains
built on fear
screaming in terror
streaked in tears
papery shrouds
ripped away
shaking arms
embrace a new day (C) MJR 2010

The little white house

The little white house
one hollow, pale May
gapes wide dark bowels
devours a prized race.
Screams in the black
tunes and sweet song.
Hair to power looms
Last waltz of souls
in carbon streaked flames.

Walking the last mile
on twilight streaked memory trail,
hear sunset hymn call,
see lost faces rise from dust pile.

The Moon Is Full

THE MOON IS FULL
By John T. Haupt

The moon is full
And feel the pull
Do the ebbing and flooding tides.
The coyote howls,
  And hoot the owls,
And the dolphin on moon-streaked wave rides.

Chico, my cat -
he’s sometimes sweet,
sometimes a brat

I stroke his fur -
white streaked with peach -
and hear him purr

I cannot know
when his presence
he will bestow

He hides from me
till his blue eyes
with glee I see

Wild Rose

scarlet streaked with yellow
I lean to breathe in her scent
I reach out to feel her touch
she pricks me
and I bleed...
bleed her scarlet fever
bleed her yellow fever
she needs me to bleed
so gladly I bleed
scarlet streaked with yellow

Premium Member Peruvian Lily

clad in muted shades
of apricot, streaked in pink,
speckled russet-brown
a floriferous delight...
alas, of fragrance deprived!
