Dawn of the Grim Reaper
Grim Reaper strolls in
Stands looking down at her face
She opens an eye
Then sits up in bed, scowling
Grim Reaper slinks off next door

Three Seconds Left
First he slinks off the field with a miss,
so forlorn, then the chance to do this.
Will we boo him to shame?
Will we drink to his name?
The ball is down. The kick is up! The kick is......

The dog slinks past me

July Fog

Fog
Slinks in,
Cloaks dawn’s smile
In July gloom
With platinum gauze ~
A foggy summer breath
Glistens on rows of sweet corn,
Kisses the vegetable garden,
As crickets chirp and bumblebees hum
In misty tunes of foghorn rhapsodies....

~Sun Dancing~

Bright yellow sparks glisten around the landscape
Sheer environment expose
Warmth slinks down every step
So-- Invigorating
Spur-like rays muster in long light
The wolves wait to howl
Soon--Bunch of flowers
Huddle in with sunlit love
Luminous rave

Broken Glass & Aluminum Castles
the silence shatters
in the back alleys of your mind,
a cat springs from a fire escape.
hitting the ground, she stumbles
near imperceptible,
revealing the last vestiges of kittenhood.
recovering herself,
she slinks unnoticed through a doorway
shimmering, it disappears behind her;
the last way out....

Monday, damp and gray, through alley slinks
disturbs the peace with cursed work-week
Her chill invades my pillows and sheets

Caesar
No beliefs except the unworthy,
A thuggish frame without a mind
Growing reeds with his father's seeds,
No thoughts except the unkind.
Idle Prince on wicker Olympus,
Stroll down and inherit your Earth.
The risen dead may come and see
The King of human stock,

While he slinks stinging,
To another room,
A Cinna....

Seashell Memories
He brings seashells to the seashore.
She sells shells and a whole lot more.
He surfs on highs of the sky in pictures of memories of times that are past.
She slinks by him over hill and dale and lays her days in fields of grass.
He thinks he'll never be worthy of her time and energy.
She sees him and purely wants them to simply be....

The Most Dangerous Loan Shark
A cold night on a dim lit back street
slinks a demon you don't want to meet

He is looking for a specific kill
for someone that forgot to pay their bill

His boss does not give mercy to any
even if one is only short a penny

So remember not to ever get a loan from the devil
because he does not take kind to those who do not settle...

There's this feral cat
who knows just where it's at
when he wanders off for late-night prowlin'.

Sixth Street and Fisher Trail
no better place for tail
he slinks up licked clean and growlin'.

The young fluffy things call him “my little pita”
but his wife knows he's nothin' but a has-been ol' cheetah
and she gets the last laugh. He thinks she's out bowlin'!...

Demon of The Shadows
Demon of The Shadows
In darkness looms a shadowy figure,
A demon theif of joy and delight,
It slinks behind our backs and whispers sinister word,
Bidding us to see through its eyeholes instead.
As we stumble through life's labyrinth,
Chasing after dreams that seem too far,
This creatures creeps, growing bolder, darker,
Until our would becomes an endless night....

Listen to poem:
From crashing waves he emerges with the clarity of a wide landscape
The king of darkness
Parades
In full view
His garish, monochrome ego
Emergent for all to despise

Original poem (extract):

"Into the ripples of the horizon's haze
The queen of the daylight
Slinks
Then is gone
Her wispy train of colour
Vanishing"

He Slinks Over The Links

He raced to the first golf hole, par he winks
Three wild shots later a turkey gobbles
Cuss words escape his lips, as his drives stink
Another dying duck's hit, as his legs wobble
Ploop, another drink of the pond, how awful

What We Do
A rooster struts, an eagle soars,
A caterpillar inches;
A dolphin leaps, a panther slinks,
A crab, if bothered, pinches.

A farmer reaps, a tailor sews,
A chef sautés and seasons;
A dentist drills, an artist paints,
All with their private reasons.

My husband vacuums and he cooks
To keep his psyche going,
While I write rhymes so I’ll recall
Which way the wind was blowing....

He haunts the back streets
  hugging the sides of buildings
Unseen, unfelt, unloved
a statistic in a dusty cabinet file

Raising up on sole-less shoes
He sneaks a view from the alley
ice on every windowpane
  conversations mixing with steam

He slinks to the edge of town
to the bridge o'er the rushing river
Would God care if he took his life ~
  his lips involuntarily quivered...

In my sky stale sun slinks slow, blazing still life’s stalled time, slinging like dark cloud, casts pensive shadow on dim day, destined to find soon the night fall through the twilight shroud. With hope to see stars shine I wait at edge of dusk.

In the Vapor
Near the belching
condensate tanks
off the interchange,
slinks a mammal
with abnormal need

to find a blind
with water to drink
and flapping fish to eat
instead of concrete.

He sheds a scowl
under the amber glow
of buzzing sodium lamps
until veins gather force
like throbbing tributaries

that course from a source
pure in flexing purpose;
despite how we deprive
he drives to survive....

Extirpated Idolatry
Lithospherical clunking, zest of our navel

Tumultuous melt, fizz ridden obliquitous

Inestimably stemming, trunking, branching

Exaspergrasping for equichosis, ecliptic apotheosis

We shimmer and charade as though dwelt in strobe

Inscribing the vitroglyph, micro slinks to macro

Then back again

I sit lotus, perfecting the interlocking polygonoids of this scape

I resonate and learn over a new sheaf

A Palm Map....

A Dew Drooping Dawn
A reluctant dawn
predicts a heel dragging day.

The sun slinks away from the sky
with dawn cast eyes.

Pond ducks swim slow,
as amnesia paddles them
in nowhere circles.

Lead tinted tears,
plop from stiff trees,
or hang as chill,
metallic drops of
melting air.

Some early hours
must drip-dry
all over your eyes
creating a lip-heavy
sag,

until someone
you don't like the look of,
shouts:
"Good morning,"

Each morning brings another day to live, fulfill...

the promise of that glowing sun and fresh air scent.

Yet, deep below the hope, it slinks with creepy skill...

the fear of dark and death...life's slithering portent.
