heatwave
leaves sighing for a cool embrace
July’s lament

You pushed me over the cliff’s edge,
eager to watch me fall.
Instead I flew
and you
were never filled
with such regret.
sounds like gunshots
fireworks getting closer
i feel threatened
i think of the vets
horrible ptsd
my dogs ears hurting

Severed stars flashing bombs
Takes place every BOOM
July 4th boom says the night
Justified
Unpredictable

Experience
Jerky

Lazy
Yellowtails
Amazing
Unique
Great
Unbridled
Sanguine
Turning
No one dares visit
it's been well known through stories
people disappear.

Finally the day
Relaxing in my lawn chair
Barbeque grill smoking;
Smells oh so good!
Volleyball over the net
Family fireworks—Wow!
The July sky is drawing nigh
Ensuring blue infinity.
We soar above the clouds so high
To contemplate divinity.
The President just stopped for gas
Deep in the heart of Breakwind Pass
The booming echo
Sent GEICO's gecko
California to Maine First Class
Poor

No love lost
for the arid
heat.
