Notes About The Poem

OOZE

slowly sinking
pressure losing patience
lilts to linger longer

'oo' lolls in the mouth
like a boiled lolly
'ze' slinks away, snakily

dark muck, surface glossy,
dares you to enter
gravity blinking a warming

I wait longer than planned
watch control become sticky
I learn to play with it
