Shaggy bark oak tree...
Why are you shaggy?
Rough around the edges,
Slick cousins mock you.
Stand proud, elegant,
yet differently, wonderful!...

Tree and Me
Cheerful shaggy tree,
So close to my heart
Each morning I see you
Fresh and green.
Now to your pretty
Yellow and Red
Fading yourself so
Gracefully and calm!...

Tales of a Beard
see the beard of a beggar
each strand tells a tale
see the length
telling/surmising his walking distance
see the fading colours
flashing us his lost darken dreams
see it so shaggy
showing a blank dreary future...

Wishes
Wishes
I made wishes: to
have
instant not light shaggy hair, to
have a
not able to
be eaten egg-shaped nut with
yellowish brown shell (no face) as a
head, to
have aluminium shins and
maybe
aluminium eyes.

Shaggy Hair
Shaggy is the only way to describe my head covering
Birdies realized they could build a home there, so they're hovering
Hoping for an upscale nest
Even thought of my chest
Haven't had hair there since I was young tweeter tweetering...

Shaggy Rug Dog
Once my dog humped the rug (yes, a shag!)
A new species was born. I could gag!
It is half carpet but
It is one half a mutt.
Shaggy rug dog has tails that can wag!

Days Down By the Sea
Days down by the sea
Far away from amusement arcades
Away from the pier
And noisy shopping parades
Just wide empty beaches
The salt sea breeze in my hair
What ever the weather
I really don’t care
Long languid days
Spent down by sea
Just a wet shaggy dog
My lady and me...

Swaggy Doggy
Once, I saw a doggy, shaggy
His dress style was super swaggy
And when he walked
The people gawked
For off came his trousers baggy

The Old Shaggy Yellow Spotted Dog
the old shaggy yellow spotted dog
ran quickly around the drawing room
chasing a long tale
until it spotted itself
in a mirror on the wall
and was amazed
by how old it is looking
and how quickly
time passes
remembering its youth
it laid down in a cradle in the woom
and cried...

Anger
ANGER
Lunges out to tear the
Flesh from bad behavior;
Clawing, ripping the dripping
Entrails from arrogance and
Selfishness : its shaggy coat
Bright red with the blood of wanton
Callousness; its foaming muzzle
Snapped into the throat
Of malice and deceit.
Don’t make me angry...

The Virtue of Motion and Life
Rebirth glides -
a bee balm ballerina
with dainty airs
sails soft upon enchanted wisps
of Spirit’s blown kiss..
wandering a nectar network
weaving amid shaggy blooms gilt-tilled..
a dancer in gold dust
her slipper feet
of light and peace
bring blessings of fruition
to wild-garden's frilly lavender fillies...

October
October flies into the gardens
by shaggy bird.
Faces of trees are similar to faces of the sacred.
And there is the silhouette familiar somewhere,
But only the lantern has blinked to him near a house.
A long time ago, nightingales became hoarse and stopped singing,
And only a wind hums about the sun,
about love, and about last summer....

Numb
Green eyes, shaggy hair
Split up lips that gasp for air
Twenty beers and a lawn chair
Mother left, brother died
Doesn't know where he'll sleep tonight
Twenty beers on ice
The sharp whistle of a train
Brings to mind his bro again
His little bro, his best friend
At night he's gone
No sign till dawn
Just Twenty empty bottles on the lawn
By Kyle Ezra Kriticos...

There Are No Stupid Questions Only Dicks That Cant Take a Joke
Do you think shaggy cried when scooby died?
Would a red smurf suffer from racism?
Does it bother god his name spelled backwards is Dog?
What if darkness is afraid of light?
Do tears every cry?
Why is captain caveman a captain?
Why is there no black teletubbies?
Why is it easier to hurt than help?
And finally why are we here?
Is it just to die?
Or just to live?...

What I Accomplished Today
I said I’d wake at dawn
And mow the shaggy lawn,
I said I’d clear the shed
And weed the flower bed,
I said I’d press her clothes
And wash her pantyhose,
I said I’d clean the rooms
And clear the musty fumes,
I said I’d cook the lunch -
But now we reach the crunch:
We’ve ceased to co exist -
I only wrote this list…
For Sara’s What I accomplished Today List contest...

Tall Tales
Oh, I shall tell tall tales today,
Full, great, big bushy lies.
A hairy tale, a scary tale,
All covered in disguise.
Just lying there, soon to ensnare,
A snake to give one fright,
But when my grandchild grabs at it,
It moves, to her delight!
Something’s amiss, this shaggy tale,
You’re starting to surmise.
If I misspelled a tale today,
Would you be none-the-wise?...

Scratching's
I came out of the poem
carrying certain words,
planning to use them
inside my own poetry.
When I tried that,
my half-completed work
began to scratch itself
like a dog with tics.
They were really good words,
but they were sounds -
just pretty sounds.
In the end I shook my shaggy head
and wrote only plain words instead.
Ugly bugs,
but they won’t itch....

So Glum
Listen to poem:
Woebegone woe beset, be gone
A Wobbegong dumbed down in dumps
Forlorn in doldrums deep and glum
For the taste of glum is dour and sour
Mirthless and mournful, cheerless and doleful
Apparel crestfallen, disheveled, long-face, appalled
Butt out, begone, woebegone Wobbegong, long in tooth
Trim your beard, its shaggy and scummy, and glumly
See more sea, and be seen in scene on screen....

Wolfish
Cavernous and queer, those eyes that
stare, and they stare and they stare
and they stare,
and a strange, ringing bell peals a tone
rare and clear, and its clear, clear as
day, clearer still.
I do wonder what the wolf would say, if
he talked, as he walked
through his wood
at night.
I’d ask him what he’s got in there, in
that big, shaggy head, on his path, in the dark
and I’d stare....
